We all arrived looking forward to a meal to unwind after being at the hospital all day with a very ill son. We had booked for 8pm and were told the table would be ready in a few minutes. At 8.20 my son had to go and ask if the table was available. Eventually, we were seated at 8.30pm. We... More

Book it you will not be disappointed. Beautiful hotel with outstanding views & atmosphere. Staff are so friendly & knowledgeable. Rooms are spacious, clean, warm. The menu is great. I had a pate starter, breaded Haddock with salad & chunky homemade chips & it was delicious. The proximity to the Mournes is brilliant, views by spelga dam outstandinf. Excellent value... More

This is the second time we have stayed here and it won't be the last! Rooms are clean and comfortable with everything you need and the staff are warm and friendly. Both the breakfast and the evening meal were very good and the waiters were very attentive.

We were booked into the Restaurant for a meal to celebrate my brother-in-law's 65th birthday. The hotel had been highly recommended and without hesitation, my sister booked a table for 27 people for 8.00 and we were seated by 8.15 with menu in hand. While the prices looked to be reasonable, it worked out expensive if you wanted all 3... More

My wife and I went to this hotel as it had a spa and swimming pool but these were closed due to work being carried out, I had reserved a room with a balcony which I got but was facing down the hotel driveway affording very little privacy, on the second evening I had to ask for the heating to... My wife and I booked a discounted 2 night break immediately after the New Years Celebrations 2015 had ended, with a little trepidation that the hotel, and staff, might be a little tired and slightly below par after the festive season. How wrong we were! The staff were exceptionally warm, friendly and welcoming and there were always 1 or 2... More

I'll give you the salient points, not a step-by-step run through of how many exact minutes we waited for our meal, how many degrees centigrade the jacuzzi was or how the spa slippers weren't particularly flattering.. 1.Location - fantastic. Breath-taking views of the Mourne's, some of the best scenery in Ireland. Bustling little town of Newcastle a few minutes away,... More

Our first experience was more electronic meltdown and left stranded in the midst of a family gathering. The dinner order for our party was lost n had to be retaken after some 45 mins the kitchen got our order and eventually we got fed. Dinner average hotel fare weak coffee that returned at breakfast time . Rough chopped fruit and... More

After a quiet Christmas our thoughts turned to New Years Eve and as we saw the Burrendale had a god band playing we decided to give the dinner dance a go. What s night, a great night! It wasn't a crazy booze filled affair with tears and punches and midnight, it was a relaxed family occasion with great food and... More
