Spacious rooms. Hotel is basic but clean and is keenly priced. Really nice staff. Irish breakfast sets you up for the day. Centrally located. Newcastle promenade 2 mins walk. No pressure on checkout time. Would visit again.

Stay here regularly with my sister when visiting newcastle. Hotel is basic but clean and for the price it's well worth it. Most importantly the staff are lovely and friendly, very accommodating and couldn't do enough for u. Laid back atmosphere and will def be back again.

This is a great hotel to stay in. We were attending an event in The Slieve Donard Hotel, the price to stay there overnight was ridiculous which is why we opted for The Donard and I'm so glad that we did. The room and bathroom was spotless and had everything you needed in it. The hotel is located on a... More

First of all I just want to say the staff here are fantastic very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is very dated, we had a family room , our son slept in his we room and we slept in ours which you can see straight into (has no door) which is great, downfall no lamps in room so we... More

I originally booked for two nights as I was at a conference in the nearby Slieve Donard Hotel. I did not need the second night and the staff went out of their way to accommodate me and gave me a full refund. This is a really good budget hotel. My room was clean with a comfortable bed and it had... More

The only saving grace for this hotel is the wonderful friendly & very accommodating staff. Both the interior & exterior are in dire need of major refurbishment and updating, currently it resembles a hotel from 1970 that hasn't been touched since it opened! Def not worth the money, more of a hostel than a hotel. The staff on the other... More

Pleasant comfortable Hotel with friendly and obliging staff in an excellent central location. Lots of shopping outlets close by and a good choice of pubs and restaurants. Two minute walk to promenade and pleasant beach. Mourne mountains are spectacular

Had an absolute fantastic stay. Staff there went out of their way to ensure we were all looked after so well between room service, late check outs and I found all to be extremely friendly and utterly obliging. Location is superb and rooms are nice and clean.
