I really enjoyed every aspect of my stay at the Enniskeen. My mountainside room had wonderful views of the mountains of Mourne. The room, with ensuite bathroom, was spotlessly clean and had all the comforts expected. Enjoyed the coffee and tea making facilities in the room too. A special highlight was the food. Really tasty, wholesome and unpretentious food. The... More

We've had the bar menu there several times now. Top class food! Really love the homemade chicken and ham pie. Staff very friendly and courteous. The surroundings are superb. From the bar you've got great views of the mountains and there's a large garden with lots of trees. We love going there for a meal even though we are probably... More

I have been an annual visitor to the Enniskeen for over twenty years. I have returned time and time again for many reasons: - the setting is superb, nestled at the foot of the Mountains of Mourne, and within easy reach of Dundrum Bay, and the picturesque town of Newcastle: - the residence has a wonderful feel of peaceful tranquillity,... We were looking for a break with a difference and found it with Enniskeen's cycling mini-break ,mountain bikes and safety equipment supplied on site along with route map. Tullymore forest park is a couple of minutes away and a slight uphill cycle up the route of the Shimna river is worth it for a rewarding freewheel back down,we then carried... More

A character filled grand house with majestic views. This place is not about 5 star anything. You get great people, wonderful. wholesome meals, fabulous breakfasts. Almost like home away from home. beds were comfortable. All the rooms are different, some with large bathrooms, some older, some new but all terrific. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Eileen and all the... More

Overall, I would return and recommend it to people but with an explanation of its idiosyncracies. Location: Excellent - 1.5 miles out of Newcastle with beautiful views of the Mourne mountains and near Tullymore Forest Park. Style/Character: The house was built around 150 years ago and has been a hotel for about 50 years. It looks like it had a... More

A warm, friendly welcome by Eileen(reception) greeted us on arrival followed by tea and biscuits before going to our room.... and what a room. Spacious, very clean, with large windows giving plenty of natural light, and a view over the garde,ns to the mountains of Morne that was simply sensational. The en-suite had a shower that was really something to... More

The Enniskeen House Hotel is unspoilt jewel of a hotel with the sea on one side and the Mourne Mountains on the other. For friendliness, home comforts, good food and tranquillity the Enniskeen Hotel is second to none. Having stayed there with my children when they were small, I am now retuning with a grown-up family and their children. Whatever... More
