one of Ireland's oldest inns in the picturesque town of Downpatrick (well worth the visit). Simple but very comfortable accommodation above the pub, which does have live music on Friday's when we were there, so be aware!

Dear Nathanwaks, Thank you for the comments, and we're glad you felt that both we and Downpatrick are worth a visit. Denvir's dates from 1642 and we think we sit well in what is a very historic town. Lot's to see and do within walking distance including a visit to St. Patrick's grave. We hope the music on Friday night... More

agree with previous reviewers that the hotel seems untidy and slightly tatty in places but this is the whole ambiance of the hotel remember it is hundreds of years old!! so don't let it ruin your stay .the reception and staff were very helpful and friendly , the room was very large and clean with a good size bathroom, good... Hi Kenneth, Thank you for your kind comments and please accept our sincere apologies about the heat. I wasn't aware of your issue until I read your review but I talked to the staff last night. What happened, we think, is that, because it was summer and the old building holds the heat so well all the radiators in the... More

If you are after character, friendly staff and good food this is the place for you. The rooms are basic but clean with comfortable beds. You eat in the bar with the locals and other eaters but we never had problems in securing a table. The food is excellent and I would definitely recommend the Irish full breakfast which was... More

Thank you for your kind comments. It was an absolute pleasure for all of us to have you visit. We think you might even have won the quiz if you had got used to the accents a bit earlier! Hope to see you again! More

Stopped 2 nights on a recent cycling trip and were well taken care of by Laura and Willie. Big room as far from noise of pub as possible although we were there on a Friday and Saturday and are used to living in the country so it was noisy for us but we still loved our time there, hanging out... Denvirs is a great pub with a lot of history about the building and land it's on. Great place for live music, food, and of course drinks. Was disappointed they took bangers and mash off the menu on my last visit but the food overall is good. Recommend going especially when there's live music.

Stayed in Denvirs for two nights. Staff, food, and room were good. The bathroom in room 3 in particular the shower could have had a good ( professional) demoulding The fan in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned in months. Full of dust. Room 3 is right over the bar so noisy but the music was good. Breakfast and evening meal... More

We live in downpatrick had a beautiful meal staff service excellent. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely. The price of our meal and drinks were very reasonable and food beautiful. We will certainly be back to denvirs for a meal and would recommend the hotel in the future.

We booked for two nights, I must say was pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms. We had 2 doubles and a single and all were great value. Great friendly helpful staff and the bar area and food were fantastic. Close to everything, St Patricks Grave is at the top of the road. Nice thing was this place was... More

I liked this hotel as it was different to the usual corporate venues. It was very quint and different to the norm. The rooms were clean and affordable and the breakfast was lovely. Staff were very friendly. Would recommend staying here again. Only downside is there is no parking so I had to park the car way up the street... More

I stayed here work a work commitment and was slightly dubious arriving and seeing a teeny car park out the side. I went inside to find a lack of reception desk Just the bar but was shown to my room (2) by a young girl and was delighted to find a somewhat quaint cosy room with a double bed and... More
