My husband and I stayed with our 4 children. All accommodated very comfortably - our bedroom was spacious, had lots of amenities with lovely country views in two directions. Layout upstairs means guest rooms feel very private. Amazing breakfast with a huge selection of breads, preserves, yogurts, cereals and of course a full cooked option. Nicola and James are perfect... From the moment I arrived hosts James & Nicola welcomed me with open arms. The property is a country manner that is furnished comfortably and eclectically with family heirlooms and antiques. The sitting room and lounge are very comfortable and my single room was delightful with views over the horse training paddock. The room was beautifully furnished and the linens... More

Not sure when I last thought bed-sheets were so comfortable or a night's sleep so renewing - maybe thanks to the hospitable log fire, welcoming Earl Grey tea with shortbread, and hearty conversation, or just because of being able to relax in crisp, fresh cotton and enjoy a sense of going back in time. In the morning, the delicious breakfast... More

We spent 2 nights at Ballymote Country House before heading off to a wedding we were in County Down for and we had a wonderful stay. The farmhouse is full of fabulous artefacts and is absolutely charming, bedrooms comfy and breakfast sumptuous. But the highlight has to be the welcoming family. James, Nicola and children were so friendly, helpful and... More

Stayed here for a family wedding nearby in Ballydugan Mill. The accommodation was great, with a fantastic spread for breakfast and we were made to feel right at home. Thank you all for sharing your home, Jon & Emma

A lovely, smallish Georgian country house in a peaceful location, just outside the town of Downpatrick. Beautifully-decorated rooms, full of interesting pictures and lovely antique furniture. Warm and cosy, not at all stuffy or intimidating! I had a fantastic night's sleep! And what wonderful hosts the Manningham-Bullers are; warm and engaging, happy to stop and chat; James is so enthusiastic... More

Ballymote is a lovely manor house just outside Downpatrick. James and Nicola are excellent hosts and very charming and chatty. James in particular was very happy to provide any assistance and advice that he could offer regarding places to see and places to eat. Our room was very comfortable and the bed very relaxing. The breakfast was excellent with a... More

We stayed for one night with our daughter. Lovely location and very friendly welcome. Really comfortable rooms and beds plus a fantastic breakfast. The perfect country house experience. Easy access to scenic coastal locations from Ardglass to Strangford ferry.

Wow! What an experience! Ballymote Country House was not even an hour from Belfast and an easy run to get there. After a warm welcome from the dogs, I got to meet the members of the household, who truly are a large part of your experience here! My bags taken upstairs, I was shown around this wonderful historic family home... More
