Very good, plenty of attentive staff, roast beef excellent. Lovely setting for a wedding. Would recommend to anyone. Easily found from either main road out of Belfast to Newcastle or Belfast to Downpatrick.

We had just visited Castle Ward and we're desperate for somewhere to spend the night as it was getting late. We found The Mill about 2 miles out of Downpatrick, and what a Gem! Cute and cosy old school rooms with modernised bathrooms, it's quite warm considering the walls are rock and timber! Good breakfast and very welcoming staff! Would... More

First glance was amazing. Loved the background story of the place and how it was restored from an old mill. The room we stayed in was nice and comfy. It felt like a home away from home. Loved the fireplace hot and warm and cozy. I would recommend it to anyone.

We recently had our daughter's wedding at the Mill, what a fantastic location. Everything was top notch from start to finish, from the accommodation, the food the atmosphere, the staff. And not forgetting Maureen who kept everyone relaxed and calm, and ensured the 'big day' was completely organized and went of without any drama, many thanks

I held a fundraising ball for Downpatrick House Romania on Saturday 28 February at the Mill Ballydugan. From planning to the evening of the event, Noel and Maureen at the Mill could not have been more supportive or helpful to me. The meal and the service were first class as usual! The food is freshly cooked and is the best... More

Just celebrated our 9th Anniversay with a delicious Sunday lunch in this unique and charming establishment, where we tied the knot in 2006. Wonderfully well looked after by Maureen and her staff and pleased to see Noel and the family dining there themselves. Thanks also for the great job The Mill did last weekend when hosting a local charity event... More

Beautiful restored main and secondary mill buildings within walled courtyard and beside lake feeding the mill wheel. Original brickwork and thick walls. Original mill stones are features. Original windows are not draught proof and very draughty. Shutters internally block light but rattle in the wind letting in the cold. Bedroom wall has 6 inch square tunnel to external which would... I'd like to give this a 5 - the food was excellent and warm and the ambience of the place is perfect with natural thick walls all tastefully restored. Service was good too. What knocks a star off is the pervading smell of cigarette smoke, not something you expect nowadays.

Just home from a family wedding at the Mill. Wonderful ! Everything was tasteful and the ambience was wonderful . The food at wedding was excellent as was the breakfast the next morning, as we stayed upstairs in the mill. Rooms were very nice, if a little chilly when we arrived.
