Thankfully we only booked one night. We had a lovely friendly welcome however downhill from then on. The room looked clean enough on first inspection but its been a while since it seen a full deep clean.Stained carpet, tiles off the walls in bathroom. No end panel on the sink. Grubby walls.....I could go on and on.No basics like welcome details in room... More

I've never stayed in the Charlemont Hotel but have visited it numerous times over the years for drinks and food. It's a small hotel with a quiet atmosphere. The menu is possibly a tad old fashioned however I've always enjoyed any meal I've had here. The nachos, garlic mushrooms and garlic potatoes are delicious if you just want a snack... More

Good Location , Large spacious room , we had a room on the front and it was Very noise with late night revelers outside - so loud it woke up repeatedly. Very helpful friendly staff but seem somewhat under pressure but were lovely to us especially on reception and the man in the bar :) Rooms basic does need upgrade... More

Old world splendor in a quaint and very quiet town. There was no elevator, AC or safe. The room was huge with lots of seating and places to put luggage etc. Huge bathroom, very clean. Nice linens. Staff very polite and accommodating. Included breakfast choices were many and were prepared and served promptly, hot and tasty. Recommended.

Nice clean cosy rooms and a decent bar downstairs, good breakfast too, very accommodating, I dont like a big breakfast so i got croissents and hot chocolate. A stone's throw from the theatre. Car park at the back.

Warm welcome and someone carried my luggage to my room which I was somewhat relieved as it was on the second floor forty steep stairs up. The lift was out of action and I found that amount of stairs up and down difficult with a sore knee. Unfortunately there was no dinner that night as they had problems with the... More

I read a lot of reviews for this hotel before booking it for a recent stay. Some were not all that great, and I had some reservations about staying here. Fortunately, I made a good choice. I felt the hotel was well worth the stay. My room was large and comfortable. The bed made for great sleeping and the room... More

I had read the other reviews before deciding to stay 2 nights. The extremely critical ones are obviously fakes - "methinks she doth protest too much" - Shakespeare. I like family run hotels - they have more character and I met loads of characters. There was nothing seriously wrong with the room, the breakfast was lovely in a very elegant... More
