Ballycastle Backpackers is a warm and friendly hostel. I had not stayed at a hostel for over 30 years. The rooms were comfortable and the amenities were modern and in excellent working condition. It was a very welcoming hostel. Well located for access to the town and also Rathlin Island and the tourist information centre. There was plenty of information... More

Everything you need is provided and you are nearly on the beach when you leave the hostel. There is a water basin in each room which is very convenient ! It was a little bit quiet when I was there but no doubt the hostel can be full of life and very welcoming.

This is a basic hostel: very clean and quiet with adequate rooms and showers and bathrooms separate, but a sink in our private room. Basic toast, cereal, and coffee/tea available anytime. We arrived at 10 pm and were cheerfully greeted and offered tea or coffee or cereal or oatmeal. Aside from the great location for walking to a park and... More

Thanks so much to Ballycastle Backpackers for making our family trip to NI wonderful. The location couldn't be better - right across the street from the beach, playground and ferry harbour - cafes, coffee places and a grocery store several doors over. Very comfortable lounge and quite newly redecorated and attractive all round. Bring some warm pjs as the rooms... More

This is a small youth hostel run almost single-handedly by its owner, Anne Marie. The personal touch makes a difference. When we arrived, the hostel was empty so Anne Marie gave us two of the best rooms in the house instead of the one family room we asked for. The rooms were of a good size and very comfortable and... A great hostel, and Anne, the owner, is incredibly nice and helpful. The place is basic, but really nice :) Breakfast is not included in the price, but the kitchen is available.

You won't get a better place to stay with friendly owner who makes you feel at home. Location is brilliant for rope bridge, causeway, Bushmills and much more. The hostel is clean, tidy and has all you need to enjoy the stay. Have used the hostel many times and don't believe you will find any better!

I stayed in Ballycastle Backpackers in December. I was the only guest and the hostel opened especially for me. The friendly proprietress even lit the open fire for me. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean, but then there was no one else around to make them dirty! The bed was comfy and the rooms warm enough. The location is great... More
