Having recently just got engaged my fiancé and I stayed here for the night. Everything was first class. And they even left us a box of chocolates and a congratulations ballon in our rooms. The staff were so friendly. We especially loved the hot tub with the fantastic view of Belfast! Thanks so much for our stay and we will... More

We stayed here twice, one in the old wing and once in the new. Both have incredibly comfy beds and wonderful huge bathtubs with big fluffy towels! A comfortable and luxurious stay. The down side in the new wing was that the decor was really odd! Big black and white photographs of masculine looking 1920s flapper girls stare down at... More

My husband and I had two lovely cocktails - Diablo and Sicilian. We were surprised however that when our bill arrived there was a service charge!! What for?? Ordering a drink and having it brought to our table!! If the service charge hadn't been added we would most likely left a tip anyway!!

stayed week before last to see family and celebrate my b'day. No Victorian rooms left so we were in the new part which is inspired by art deco and done quite well although it certainly didn't feel authentic but then doesn't purport to do so. Rooms huge, bright, airy, super comfy and bathroom fabulous, in fact they really should qualify... More

After a morning shopping stopped at The Merchant for afternoon tea. OMG what a treat !!! The decor and ambience is superb and the service outstanding. The "tea" itself was wonderful with beautiful cakes, scones, sandwiches etc all arranged on a 3 tier platter. I had a choice of numerous teas which were served beautifully. The glass of pink champagne... More

We spent our first 2 nights in Ireland at the Merchant and were really impressed. This hotel was right up there with some of nicest hotels we had stayed in the previous year in France and Spain. The building is lovingly restored, with no expense spared and the staff were friendly and very helpful. We dined in the hotel restaurant... More

Stayed three nights and loved it. Professional staff treated us so well as we had confused our booking date. A room was found for us and we were transferred to our room of choice on the second night. Helpful staff, great breakfast, sophisticated Art Deco room, Berts Bar, all went to making our stay memorable. Thank you to the Merchant!

We really enjoyed our stay last week, celebrating my birthday at the Spa and then dinner at Bert's. The room, helpful service and facilities were of a high standard. A box of chocolates and birthday wishes with their compliments added a lovely touch to my day of pampering. ( I am keeping my eye on Spa Renewal offers in December... More
