Spent 2 nights in a suite. The hotel was excellent, rooms excellent, We went for dinner and got presented with the set dinner menu advertised by the hotel as "a mouth-watering dinner in the magnificent Great Room". The set menu had three starters, three main courses and three deserts. The three main courses was a choice of "Cod", "pork" and... more

We could not fault the Merchant Hotel from the moment we arrived. Firstly, the welcome was very personal with the receptionist shaking our hands on arrival. In fact the team at the hotel provided the best service we have experienced since staying at Gleneagles in Scotland. They were courteous, knowledgeable (especially the bar man when it came to cocktails) and... more

I live in Belfast , however, my husband and I decided to stay for a night at the Merchant Hotel for my birthday treat and what a treat it was. From the minute we arrived until the minute we left everything was perfect. The service, the food, the rooms and whole atmosphere. It is wonderful that the Merchant have turned... more

From the moment of arrival, the feeling of luxury and service is palpable. The standard of decor is opulent throughout, achieving a great balance between authentic period detail and up to date trend. Rooms are spacious and very well appointed with high ceilings and big windows, bathrooms very well finished, large flat screen tvs, great beds etc. Everyone seemed absolutely... more

We stayed at the Merchant for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hotel was sumptuous and luxurious with its use of heavy curtains and dark colours which gave a feeling of rich decadence. We loved the little touches, like the way the bathroom mirror was heated so that you could still see in at after a hot shower and... more

The Merchant lived up to all expectations. Each member of the staff team were top rate and offered an excellent service. It was a real joy to eat in the restaurant, the surroundings where magnificent and the food was in my opinion the best in the city. To have an hotel such as this in the heart of Belfast is... more

Our stay was the most comfortable I have had. The bath was huge, as was the room, and William, concierge, was really friendly and helpful. The bed and pillows were soft and huge to match the room, and room service was instant. We had the most gorgeous eggs benedict for breakfast and fresh smoothies. Being right in the middle of... more

Greated at the door by a very well dressed, well mannered doorman who organised the parking of our car, just one more thing taken care of for us. Our room was anything but standard with its rich decor and spacious well appointed en-suite. Our food - 1st lunch - good choice, sensibly priced, we opted for the meat selection, it... more
