The room was spacious and extra touches like the well lit make-up mirror, and automatic lighting on opening the robe were appreciated. The large photographs of the "girl" on the walls and door were a littleoff putting, but the decor was still quite impressive. Great bathroom with deep bath, separate large walk in shower, piped sound (from the television). We... More

There is no better place to stay in Belfast than the Merchant. From the moment of arrival to the moment of departure, you feel as an honored guest. They do not cut any corners. I would stay here anytime. Downside is parking your car and some street noise.

My husband and I were given vouchers for an overnight stay as a wedding present and I was so excited about staying in the Merchant, I talked about it for weeks beforehand. Upon arrival the staff are friendly at reception and a porter helped us up to our room. The room was not particularly nice, definitely not up to a... More

Their website boast that they the are "delighted to announce that the Merchant Hotel has just been awarded Best UK Hotel at the prestigious International Hotel Awards!" I absolutely agree. Having stayed in hotels all over the world, The Merchant Hotel is one of the tops on my list of favorite hotels. Who ever said they wished they could spend... More

Loved our 2 nights in this hotel, however the titanic theme is a bit ott. Food and staff excellent though, really enjoyed Belfast and was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness.

Got in after a hard day's night of traveling, they are very accommodating. They arranged a Black Taxi tour for us whilst we were awaiting check-in, the room was spacious and very comfortable. Room service was very speedy and the dining area (which was the building's lobby in it's original incarnation as a bank) was very impressive. The breakfast was... More

We booked to celebrate our 5th wedding anniverary and stayed in the Lewis suite. It is beautifully furnished and wonderfully comfortable. We dined in The Great Room, and the food was beyond compare. The service was second to none. The Merchant is very professionally run. Nothing is left to chance, and every effort is made to make a stay there... More

I have stayed in the Merchant a few times, for all sorts of different occasions, but I stayed on a Thurs last summer and got a fantastic deal. 2B&B, 1 D, complimentary late check out, wifi, valet parking for £200 for both of us!! Then to Plan B @ Custom Square: fantastic nite. The cocktails are amazing!! Just remember to... More

Grand luxury hotel with brilliant staff. In fact all over Belfast the residents could not have been more helpful. Has everybody been on training course of how to be nice to visitors? The public rooms in the Merchant are some of the best you will find. The bedrooms are well equipped, stylish and very comfortable. Everything you would expect from... More

From the moment of arrival to departure we found nothing but perfection. The staff to a person was professional, friendly, informed and helpful. (We had stayed the previous night at the Portaferry Inn - owned by the Merchant and had the same experience.). We stayed on the "Deco" section and loved our large, sunny room with every thing we could... More
