Hotel has made great improvements in decor and comfort. We had lunch on arrival in a beautiful restaurant with beautiful food, and so was really looking forward to the breakfast part of the B&B package... But what a complete let down! The breakfast room is an older room with social club style table and chairs. Miserable spread on offer. Empty... More

Room large and clean but I stayed in 210 where directly outside was some kind of generator / air conditioning unit. It was noisy all night resulting in not much sleep. I mentioned this to an unconcerned member of staff when checking out. There was no resident's bar. Was told that only 4 star + hotels have risident's bar. I've... More

I'm sorry you feel that you have been unfairly treated. However, as previously explained by myself on the phone, the room and its facilities were checked on Saturday morning 15th November and the TV was fully functioning. Immediately after your departure the room was checked again and the TV was found to have a large crack in the screen. In... More

Stayed in room 202. Room was above the main doors of hotel. And every time someone walked in or out I heard the door banging. Very annoying. No atmosphere about the place. Food is exceptionally nice I have to say. Although the door banging annoyed me the most. That's why it has got the low rating.

Popped into the newly refurbished Ivanhoe for coffee and cake after Sunday Mass. We immediately went to reception to ask where we could have coffee and cake and was told we could head for the bistro. The Initial impression was very good as a lovely lady directed us to our seats and offered us a look at the new menu.... More

Arrived at lunchtime with a work colleague for lunch. Had a choice of seats as we were early.we arrived at 12.30 and had had to be back in nearby work by 2pm, ample time we thought. The place soon filled up quickly. We were advised about the specials and opted for, soup and sandwiches and panini. The soup was veg soup,... More

I visited the recently refurbished bistro on Saturday for lunch with my 18 month old son and my parents....everything was top notch.. right from the reception we received, the presentation and quality of the food and the service the staff gave us including entertaining my noisy son. I would highly recommend the Ivanhoe and intend to frequent it more often.

After seeing the renovations taking place over number of months, decided to give the Ivanhoe a chance. The renovations are fantastic, a really bright modern airy feel with lovely exposed brickwork. I was very impressed. Sadly this went downhill when I saw menu, it does not reflect the surroundings. Still offering the tired and boring staples...lasagne, burger, scampi, steak, ribs... More
