Have to say the new look Bistro is beautiful long overdue and I really hope it pays off. Staff are always lovely as is the majority of the food. Been in twice since the renovations of old bar/new bistro has been completed. First time I had chicken Gourgon's Second time opted for Cod - one slight disappointment is the batter.... More

As a treat I took my 17 year old son to this lovely bistro. The new surroundings are delightful and we could easily have stayed for hours just relaxing and chatting. I had the build a burger which would have melted in your mouth and had no greasy aftertaste. Hugh, the barman was quick to inform me that the burger... More

The hotel is just out of the City, but convenient for visits in and around Belfast. The main road runs past close outside and is usually busy and noisey with some speed demons out there, take care. The double glazing keeps out the noise, but book a room at the back if you want the window open It is a... More

We visited the Ivanhoe today and had a lovely meal. We loved the renovations and the meal was the good usual Ivanhoe standard! When we arrived the young waitresses were doing a fantastic job showing people to their table, take orders, bring food etc. Shortly after we finished our meal a lady arrived who has worked in the Ivanhoe for... I stayed at the Ivanhoe during the Big Start in Belfast for Giro d Italia Cycle Race. The hotel was being refurbished but that did not effect my stay. The rooms have all been updated and are of very high quality, I had a double room which was enormous and comfortable. The staff were fantastic nothing was to much of... More

My husband, daughter and I tried here for a late lunch. Never again the bistro was beautiful but food was very poor and the staff 20years behind the times with no knowledge of the menu or food. I eat out often and was disgusted at having to pay £4,95 for one scoop of Maude's ice cream. I had a rib... More

Dined here for Fathers Day yesterday with a party of 9 and experience was not good. Despite an expensive refurbishment, the food was awful and the staff rude and unpleasant. Not planning on returning.

Overall, the room was a nice place. We were able to ride the bus to downtown rather than drive in this very busy city. Finding the right bus back to the hotel, however, was a challenge. Although the staff was helpful, I definitely didn't get the 'friendly vibe' we've experienced in all the other places we've stayed in Ireland. The... More

Took my boyfriend overnight here for his birthday, we were abit dissapointed. Our room was lovely and spacious and clean (althought there was no iron in our room so we had to go down to reception to request one). The lady at reception wasnt very pleasent when we had went down to ask about entertainment in the bar for that... More

I stayed here recently with my girlfriend as part of the 'Leisure Break' voucher we had. The voucher entitled us to free accommodation but required us to eat our meals in the hotel at the cost of £40 each per night. Unfortunately things weren't as simple as that. Although the breakfast was satisfactory the dinner most certainly was not. We... More
