I visited the recently refurbished bistro on Saturday for lunch with my 18 month old son and my parents....everything was top notch.. right from the reception we received, the presentation and quality of the food and the service the staff gave us including entertaining my noisy son. I would highly recommend the Ivanhoe and intend to frequent it more often.

After seeing the renovations taking place over number of months, decided to give the Ivanhoe a chance. The renovations are fantastic, a really bright modern airy feel with lovely exposed brickwork. I was very impressed. Sadly this went downhill when I saw menu, it does not reflect the surroundings. Still offering the tired and boring staples...lasagne, burger, scampi, steak, ribs... More

Stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Belfast, a little out of the main area but easy by bus (directly outside) to get in. Bus driver was amazing, even dropped us at the hotel entrance on return!!! Hotel staff extremely helpful. Didn't eat here so can't comment on food. Room was large, comfortable, clean TV, free wi-fi tea & coffee... More

Decided to have tea out and we thought we would go local. The hotel has recently been refurbished so we were looking forward to seeing the changes! Nice face lift, but sadly there is zero atmosphere, and food was extremely mediorce. As usual no staff in lower bar to serve customers a drink! This is going to be an expensive waste... More

The Ivanhoe has was originally a pub which a number of years ago was extended to become a hotel. It was becoming a 'bit tired' in terms of decor and the food was basic 'pub grub'. With so much competition in recent years we very rarely went there as the other restaurants in the area were more attractive. However, over... More

went for lunch with my mum. Am always impressed at how they do a pensioner lunch at reduced rate. Great value. The food was nice but the batter on the cod was a bit soft and the chips were more end bits than fat chips. I think with the new décor, which is wonderful, the food should reflect that and... More

Have to say the new look Bistro is beautiful long overdue and I really hope it pays off. Staff are always lovely as is the majority of the food. Been in twice since the renovations of old bar/new bistro has been completed. First time I had chicken Gourgon's Second time opted for Cod - one slight disappointment is the batter.... More

As a treat I took my 17 year old son to this lovely bistro. The new surroundings are delightful and we could easily have stayed for hours just relaxing and chatting. I had the build a burger which would have melted in your mouth and had no greasy aftertaste. Hugh, the barman was quick to inform me that the burger... More

The hotel is just out of the City, but convenient for visits in and around Belfast. The main road runs past close outside and is usually busy and noisey with some speed demons out there, take care. The double glazing keeps out the noise, but book a room at the back if you want the window open It is a... More
