Me and my husband went for the first time to Belfast and were really looking forward to the trip. After re-confirming our arrival time a few weeks before, when we got there , there was the housekeeper who could not speak a word of English and was not able to tell us which room was ours. After finally calling the... more

Stayed the night of 14th May 2008 with friends at the end of a 9 day, 9 stop tour. Accomodation o.k.....BUT... Mouldy toast served at breakfast and when I walked through to the kitchen area to find someone to report/complain to Mannix McAlister seemed more concerned that I had breached the 'private' area of the house than offer any proper... more

This B&B was nice on the whole but was ruined by a member of staff who claimed to be the care taker. I went to meet a friend around 9.30 am who was stopping there for around 45 minutes before he had checked out, as I came from another part of belfast so we could depart back on a flight... more

Friends in Belfast booked this for us and while the owner was very friendly the rooms were very, very plain. Although the double bed was very one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in the furniture was very basic. Our ensuite was of a very poor standard, we only had a shower and it did not work for... more

We stayed at Somerton House because other accomodation that we had booked fell though at the last minute and the other B and B booked this for us since they could not accomodate us. When we arrived in the early afternoon it seemed we put the owner in a tailspin and she was not particularily welcoming. She showed us a... more

Enjoyed the comfortable room and nice breakfast. Convenient to bus stop for downtown and to Cave Hill/Belfast Castle. Carrying baggage to the room was quite a chore. more

Me and my friend stayed at somerton house over the weekend. As we were arriving from Dublin it got quite late and we felt like intruders having caused inconvenience to the owners. The room was spacious and ok. Although it was to the street it didn't matter as were is no through traffic at all. We choose somerton house because... more

I recently stayed at the hotel in a twin room (one double and a single). The room was in the converted attic part of the hotel and had an on suite with a bath/shower (running off the hot water system). The room had wooden flooring. There was a small tv in the room. Good Points We arrived very early 9am... more

We stayed two nights at Somerton House in May. The B&B is located in a quiet residential area just north of Belfast, an easy drive into the city. It’s not walking distance to anything interesting, but we liked being away from the downtown area. There are two parking spots in front of the B&B and lots of parking on the... more

We stayed here on the night we got married and although it was short stay, we enjoyed it. They were very good to us, especially considering we arrived at 1am with no room key! The owner got up and sorted a room for us. more
