We stayed at the Marine Guest House when we flew into and out of Belfast on a family vacation, so we booked two rooms and stayed there two different times. Though the furnishings are a little tired and worn, our rooms were clean, the service was fine and it was quiet in the evenings. The location is good with many... more

Broadly agree with the three previous reviews. The owner certainly could do with a spell in charm school. Doesn't seem to enjoy his job and customer satisfaction is not top of his agenda. Room quite good. Location excellent. Not in a hurry back. more

I had a horrible experience at this b&b. I was booked in for two nights. The room was not up to standard at all and the owner of the b&b was rude from the offset. On the second day I received a phone call that I couldn't stay for another night and to get my stuff out of the room,... more

The guest house was clean and tidy but really smelt of eggs. I thought this might be because the owner was having tea when we arrived but when we came back at two in the morning the whole house/room still smelt! The room/bathroom that I stayed in could have done with a bit of an update but was very clean... more

I stayed in this GuestHouse for one night even though i was booked in for 8 weeks. I only stayed one night because the Old man that owns the place extremely rudely asked me to leave the room at 11 o'clock at night because and i quote he 'couldn't be bothered with the paper work' for my company to pay... more

I stayed at the Marine House because everything else was fully booked and I had a very nice surprise: everything was really clean, breakfast was good and the price reasonable taking into account Belfast's accomodation's high prices. It is very near Queen's University, a lovely and quiet place to stay and very easy to reach the city centre either on... more

We picked the Marine as it had three stars as opposed to the two stars of other Belfast B&Bs at around the £30 pppn mark. It is in a nice leafy street and is handy for Queen's University, City Hospital and the bars and restaurants in the surrounding area. We noticed an eggy smell on entering the house - but... more

Has the Marine Lodge changed owners since the last review was posted? The landlady was the rudest person I have ever given money to. Clearly she doesnt want unmarried couples in her establishment as she made quite clear on the dirty looks she gave myself and my fiance. We arrived as 3 guys and 1 girl but put the boys... more

We stayed here overnight with my parents during a week long roadtrip around Ireland. We found the place absolutely gorgeous - immaculate and clean. About 15 minutes walk from town centre/restaurants. The place is absolutely massive. The lady owner was very courteous and helpful for us. We would recommend this B&B. more

Hotels in Belfast are grossly overpriced for what, after all, is a city where the main interest is a tour of the troubles. It has few other notable buildings or sites. A walk along Falls Road or Shankill Road is a potent reminder of the bigotry and hatred which has no place in the rest of the UK. So we... more
