I always stay here. It's friendly, reasonably priced with comfortable rooms and great food. Very handy for everything but far enough from the main road to be quiet and peaceful. It does not have en-suites but unless you like to spend all your time in the bathroom that is not a problem plus there are ample facilities. It's a great... More

Nice location but more of 1960's experience than a 2010's Old Victorian building needs a good lick of paint. Furniture , obviously whatever old furniture the landlord had. No en-suit bathroom, have to go down some stairs to access them. Pity, because the staff and the breakfast were excellent. Last point....Their credit card reader was not working....Had to get cash... The location is within walking distance of downtown but far enough to be quiet so you can sleep well. The room was a good size for my needs and the bed was comfortable and everything is clean and well-kept. I stayed 2 nights and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a great way to start... More

Greeted by the lovely Renata. The building is homely in a pretty street. Lots of good eateries nearby, also within walking distance of the Botanic gardens, Ulster Museum and Queen's University. There are bus stops and train stations nearby to the City centre. The room is very comfortably appointed, with tea & coffee making facilities and cable T.V. There are shared... More

On arriving at Windermere I was a little put off by the 'tiredness' of the carpet, but I shut my mind to it and instead paid attention to the very friendly Renata (I think that was her name). She was helpful and supportive throughout our stay, as was the very friendly Sharon (again, I hope that was her name). Our... More

I really enjoyed my stay at Windermere Guest House. I was met by a friendly lass who helped me carry my suitcase up the flight of stairs to my room. My tiny room was very clean but the bed was comfortable. I shared the bathroom but had a small wash basin in the room. I slept so well as the... More

Stayed here recently for one night. Room was clean and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised given the rates are so reasonable. A lovely warm welcome, good breakfast with very nice coffee provided with a smile. Close to bus routes for seeing the city & beyond. The landlady was very friendly and made me feel very welcome. Well worth a visit.

Good price and reasonable location, was upgraded to a double room from a single so had a comfortable bed which I was grateful for and had a good nights sleep. Couldn't get wifi in my room and struggled to get the shower to work. Left very early in the morning so I didn't get chance to sample the included breakfast

I'm originally from Belfast and visit my friends and family regularly but usually stay at my parents house in Newtownards. I decided this time not to bother and looked for somewhere close to the Botanic to stay. Windermere was cheap, good location and looked reasonable. The welcome was lovely, the room (on the first floor) was clean, the shower was... More
