Myself n a friend stayed 3nights in 14 mix dorm, was a wonderful experience. The staff more likely brothers n sister s. The place was nicely cleaned, bathroom n shower facilities reasonable. Cleanliness is satisfactory, the location is amazing, for transport, sightseeing, n clubbing. Their kitchen was fully equipped, had few meals cooked from there. The owner steve is very... More

I only stayed for two nights, I wish I could be longer there (if I return to Belfast this could be my accommodation). Is not located at the city centre but you are near bus and trains stops. The best thing I remember is the bbq dinner, a funny and cheap way to eat and enjoy a time chatting with... More

Lagan is a friendly hostel. The staff look like a family, and they threat you like one of their. The hostel is a bit far from the centre of the city... although the breakfast is so good. I totally recomend Lagan Backpackers! :)

I only stayed here for one night, but it was a great hostel and I would recommend it to anyone. It is close to the university, so nightlife and stores are very close. It is a short walk to the city center- no problem. The hostel was clean, a little old, but that just gives it character. The staff are... More

The bathrooms are quite dirty. Rooms are just average others. The hostel is run by only helpers as I know, so no one would really keep up the quality of the environment. Location is not good at all. Every time i wnna travel to.the center, it takes me more than 20 minutes. So if you are looking for a good... More

Lagan is an awesome little hostel. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Very clean and organized. They offer full breakfast, cooked by the kitchen staff specially for you (an awesome plus). Also, the tours they offer are very entertaining and interesting, particularly the Giant's Causeway. All in all a very good choice if you're going to Belfast. Felt completely... More

Lagan Backpackers in a great little hostel in Belfast. It is located closed to things but not in the very center of town so it's quiet. Walkable to lots of stuff - including the train station. The rooms are clean and the sheets and blankets are really nice. This hostel also has a great free breakfast - maybe one of... More

They organize tours to other parts of Northern Ireland, the staff were very helpful. They have a bbq every evening and you can get some of that if you sign up for it - just tell them you're in - it's extremely affordable and a great chance to meet different tourists. Breakfast was amazing. Location was very good considering the... More

My room at Lagan Backpackers was quite comfy but finding a vacant toilet meant climbing up and down staircases at times. The breakfast was tasty but the dining room is tiny so you had to be on the ball timewise to get a seat and then vacate asap for others who were waiting. Dinner was cancelled every night that I... Good location: I've done all my sightseeing by foot from there, but it's not a big city ;-). Helpful staff: From troublesooting with the wifi to advice about out of the city sightseeing. Delicious hot breakfast: A good start for a cool rainy day in Belfast, and clearly de best breakfasts in Ireland backpackers hostels. Rooms ok.: Not much to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Included is a FREE English Breakfast that includes Bacon, Sausage, egg, beans and toast. Or Porridge or scrambled eggs and bacon. Please note breakfast is strictly between 8 and 10 with no exceptions. All breakfast served only with coffee or tea. Lagan Backpackers is simply a large Belfast house that has been converted into a Backpackers Hostel; and it is owned and run by a South African guy who knows what backpackers want. Our high ratings are mostly due to the great attention and recommendations that you can expect from both myself and my staff. My idea for a great hostel is very simple: to make you feel at home. To give you a comfortable bed to sleep in, to keep the noise down after eleven to ensure a peaceful sleep and to make you feel so at home that you make new friends and enjoy Belfast as much as possible. We provide advice on all tours of Northern Ireland, and will only recommend tours that we have personally experienced. We advise that our customers do not pre-book tours before visiting as we find that some tour operators overcharge and do not provide the level of customer satisfaction that we expect for our guests. In addition to this, Lagan Backpackers hostel is very friendly to single travellers, as we go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay. We are located minutes from the City Centre, the Lagan River and the picturesque Queens University campus; and mere moments away from the lively Botanic Avenue where there are many restaurants, shops, pubs and clubs for our customers to enjoy. Additionally, the Botanical Gardens that boast beautiful greenhouses and the famed Tropical Ravine is a short walk away, adjacent to the Ulster Museum. Our staff are friendly and eager to help with any enquiries our customers have about which places to visit in the area, the history of Belfast, or even just the best pub to enjoy a pint of Guinness. We are on hand to provide personal recommendations for popular tourist attractions and tours of Northern Ireland, and are more than happy to organise and book these tours for our guests. Lagan Backpackers has a very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere; as our main aim is to ensure our guests feel very much at home. We have full kitchen facilities and a cosy common area where people can eat, relax in front of the television or chat and make new friends. Free tea and coffee for our guests throughout the day. There are also laundry services available for a small fee. Wireless internet access available for a small fee. We look forward to having you stay with us at Lagan Backpackers, where we will make your experience of Belfast a truly memorable one. Bookings for same day as arrival will only be accepted up to 6pm.** Please be advised that although there is no curfew, non-hostel guests are not allowed upstairs. This is non-negotiable, as Lagan Backpackers needs to ensure the complete security and comfort of all of its guests. Reception is open until 11pm, however if you require a later check-in please contact us ** No groups, stag parties, hen parties or drunken weekends like Paddys day!! Please remember only for the 11,12,13,14 July I do not accept booking from people from the UK (England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales..also no American or Canadian band members). This is only for the marching season. No refunds on deposits will be given and you will be turned away on arrival. No stag or hen parties or groups without prior permission. ... more   less
