This place was great! It was a typical backpackers just a bed and a passable bathrooms but they went above and beyond in every other way!! The breakfast was a big home cooked one with baked beans eggs tomato toast and bacon and it was included in your stay. They also put on a dinner most nights, they are generally... More

PRO: The hostel is near the botanic garden and near one of the main street in Belfast CONS: The bathroom and the shower are dirty, the rooms are dark and tight, the breakfast room is very small and there was no place for everyone to eat at the same time

I can honestly say this is the worst hostel I've ever stayed in - I don't mind scruffy but I do value basic cleanliness and sleep quality so really wouldn't recommend this place if you do too. Pros: clean bedding, located on a quiet street but within easy walking distance of pubs, cafes, shops etc. Cons: filthy - particularly the... More

I shared a four bed room with my friend and these 2 other girls. We had curtains around our beds which was great, and there were lockers in our room to put our stuff in them. The people running the hostel were really nice, and it was an awesome time as we chilled with them in the evening. Great place... More

I arrived, paid bill, went upstairs. The locks on the bedroom doors were broken, looked like they had been forced open. About 5 bunk beds in one room. No room around bed to dress or undress. Only privacy you get was behind curtains around the bunk bed itself. Beds tight to windows. I really didn't want to stay there after... More

I've been to lagan backpackes during a weekend and the hostel was full, even though the hostel had a good pattern of clealiness, the hostel was a bit far away from the city centre, but it was not a bad location, once the botanic ave had a good amount of entretairiment includinglots of pubs and restaurants. It was a good... More

The hostel is really good. The bedroom are quite big and the bathrooms very clean. The staff was great and very helpful! The breakfast free was a very nice touch. Steve is a great owner and gives really nice tips about what to do in Belfast. Everyone should book the Black Taxi Tour and Giant's Causeway tour that the hostel... More

The staff was great! So helpful!! The breakfast was excellent!! It wasn't just your regular continental breakfast!! the beds were so comfortable and clean! They had blinds to block out light, and sound, made it quite dark so it was easy to sleep. The Wi-Fi was excellent, you could access anywhere in the hostel, and it was strong. They had... More

Considering the price (£26 for three nights), Lagan hostel was a really good stay. It was clean, very friendly staff and a nice comfortable environment between the guest. Sure enough, there was no luxuries, the rooms had the bare minimum, but for the price there was nothing to complain about. An extra bonus was that breakfast was included and the... More

The member of staff that greeted me was super friendly. But when I entered the room, I was left disappointed. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke, I assume the smoking area was right beneath the window. The bunk I was in was horribly squeaky. Two of the four lockers (this was a six bed dorm) had no means... More
