Sunday afternoon, myself and several others decided to have lunch at Eddie's café at the campsite - which we have done many times as the food and service is great. However we will not be going there again. As our 5 vehicles approached the main gate the young lady told us, rather rudely, that we couldn't visit the café unless... More

I've reviewed Hillend twice before and felt compelled to write again following our 10 day holiday spent here with friends. We arrived first, on a Thursday evening, and were checked in by a big lad who was very jovial and friendly. H even let my 5 year old son have a look through what looked like a very expensive pair... £35 per night per unit - minimum stay 3 nights, no advance booking and no electric hookup but what a wonderful place. It is a very large site but in the perfect location just behind the dunes of Rossilli Bay. Field 1 is nearest to the toilet blocks and Field 3 is the family field. Field 4 is the one... More

We pitched our tents in the family field, which is large (maybe 10 acres?), well-drained, flattish and grassy. There are water points, washing-up points and electric hook-ups in the field, which was clean, mown and not muddy. The atmosphere was friendly and peaceful. Most campers were family groups with young children. There was no noise after about 9pm. The shower... More

Yet again a great holiday here, staff really helpful and friendly, facilities are very clean and attended to very regularly. The shop on site is equipped quite well, but if your staying for a week a trip to Swansea to stock up would be needed. If you like surfing, walking and an evening fire in the dunes, it's a place... Stayed here for a weekend with a friend. Unfortunately, good old British summer time washed us out. We woke up with a flooded tent and all of our gear soaked. The staff were amazing, especially Chris, who took pity on us and made us an early morning cup of tea. Facilities were excellent, we were able to dry all of... More

Lovely time had by all at this fantastic campsite. Loads of space, minimum rules so kids can be kids and relax and have fun!! Minutes walk to beach and sand dunes. Shop brilliant and a nice walk along the coast path to rhosilly. Not a massive fan of the takeaway cafe but that is personal choice. Also could do with... More

We stayed at Hillend campsite for the second time during the school holidays (20th Aug - 22nd Aug). I absolutely love this site, the owners and indeed all the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The campsite is clean, tidy and very chilled out with plenty of hot showers and toilets. The campsite is just over the sand dunes from... More

Just back from a week at Hillend, this is the 4th year on the trot. Amazing beach and scenery, great surf for body boarding/surfing, great cafe for food and on site shop. A quiet and relaxing campsite with friendly staff, contrary to other reviews. We have never had a problem here in 4 years and cant wait to visit again.... More
