I have just returned from the Winston Hotel, 7 of us went to Swansea for my best friend's Hen do. On arrival, the staff were friendly and helpful. We had full use of the Spa on Saturday afternoon which was perfect for us, and the thoughtful added extra of a cinema screen so we could view Chick Flicks was a... more

Have just spent a great three days at this lovely hotel. The accomodation ,food, staff, and location are all superb. Nothing was too much trouble for Keith, his wife and all the staff. As residents of Swansea , we just wanted a few days away from home, in the peace and quiet of the beautiful Gower peninsular and this filled the bill... more

We have stayed in many hotels both home and abroad and have to say that this is one of the best we have stayed in. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit the Gower. The staff are fantastic and could' nt do enough for us. We had an excellent choice on the breakfast menu and would... more

Hotel is located at the bottom of a small valley in Bishopston next to a 12th century church. What a welcome! The staff are friendly, very helpful and have a great sense of humour. Room we had was very well presented and contained all facilities you need for a comfortable stay. Only negative for me was the matress was too... more

Annex room which was cold (no double glazing), noisy (pipes banging), uncomfortably small double bed (springs through old mattress), dirty (stains and smelly linen), ineffective dribble of a shower....but it was close to the activities I had planned. Shame I had to cancel because I was too tired after the worst night of sleep I've had for a long time.... more

The hotel smells, is dirty and has awful rooms and comunal areas. The pool was not in use. The propritor is rude and unhelpful and does not take criticism well. Do not book in advance as you will be charged of you want to leave. more

For a 3 star Hotel, and the prices that go with that, I think we received a 'rough deal'. The Hotel boasts a swimming pool, but apparently its never open!! (We were told it was in need of repair, which could not be done while guests were resident). So check before you go. The room was clean, but poorly furnished, no... more

Where to begin?? The room we had was above the bar, which was noisy all night. The bathroom door handle was missing and it was impossible to close, let alone lock the door. Anyone going to the loo was consequently in full view of someone in the room. When we finally got a waitress to give us a table for... more

Having just come from a lovely hotel near Cardiff we were looking forward to our two night stay at the Winston Hotel. On arrival we were really dissapointed -although clean ,everywhere was a little tired and in need of an update. No mention was made when I booked that the pool would be out of action (which it would also... more

When we checked in we were told the chef was ill so there would be no meals that night unless previously booked. We had but the enticing menu that is on the website was replaced with a bare Monkfish, Steak, Chicken or a vegetarian meal. The kitchen had 2 efforts at producing a well done steak (not the most difficult... more
