We stayed at the Alexander for our visit to the Gower Peninsula as most of the places we wanted to book were full. The location is fine as it was easy to drive a short distance to The Three Cliffs or Rhossilli Bay. Back at the Alexander we parked on the side road nearby. The hosts were very hospitable and... Stayed here two nights based on rating alone. This needs to be adjusted. It is located next to main road but what really gave us a headache was the fire alarm going off at 3.27am EVERY NIGHT! No excuse nor explanation given. Toilet door lock not working either. No wonder this place is not busy... Please look elsewhere.

We apologise for the fire alarm going off on your stay, there was a malfunction in the system which was beyond our control. We thought that an apology was given to all customers. The problem has since been rectified. The comment about being quiet is incorrect as we are a very busy bed and breakfast and hope that people will read... More

The room was very good value. The place was spotless and the staff very pleasant. I would return here without hesitation. A single room was just under £50 which I think is good value for the location and quality of the room. I cannot comment on the breakfast because I slept through it. The owner understood that my dad, in... More

The hotel is definitely a B and B rather than a hotel. There are a few downsides - it wasn't easy too find, parking is not always that easy and the towels could definitely do with an upgrade. However, it was good value for money (we had a family room), it was reasonably clean and the Wifi worked well. In... More

This is the second occasion we have stayed although staff very helpful our stay not as enjoyable as the first, found the hotel to be displeasently decorated for which ever reason and did lack in basic cleanliness, although we did have a good time as swansea is a great city.

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay as much as your first visit. We are a Victorian building and try to decorate to suit the period with a modern touch. We pride ourselves with our cleaning regime and wished that you had informed us of any problems while you were staying at The Alexander on your departure. We have many... More

I stayed here for a week and from the initial welcome, through my stay and goodbye the owners were very hospitable. I had a room at the back of the b&b and with a sea view. I had a very pleasant stay, which a great breakfast selection. Close to pubs, shops and restaurants and not far from botanical gardens and... More

Stayed at this B&B for 2 nights. The rooms were lovely and clean, everything you needed even down to cotton buds, iron and board. The owners were lovely, very professional and know how to run a business. Breakfast was superb and plentiful. Parking was a problem on the main road as very busy when we checked in. Sleep quality not... More

First, and this is totally my mistake. This is not a HOTEL. This is a B&B. Had I looked closer at the listing online I would have seen that there were only 9 rooms and 3 floors. However, the online listing clearly says Alexander Hotel. We had difficulty locating the property as we were expecting to see a hotel. After... More

This guesthouse made me feel welcome and was very cosy. It has a friendly atmosphere and I enjoyed my stay. It is, however, more than a mile away from the station and city centre, so I advise taking a cab if you arrive late.
