We booked this room as we were attending a concert at the nearby arena, its literally in town and was so conveniently located. Theres a large car park, our room was clean and all usual facilities available. We were greeted by the owner on arrival who instantly made us feel welcome - its always nice when you are able to... We arrived to Night Lodge early so that we could make the rugby match in time. The owner was very accommodating and friendly! The rooms were very clean, yes they are small but you have an ensuite and they were exactly what we were looking for! The free parking and close proximity to the town and station was excellent! If... Night Lodge in Newport is a budget hostel style hotel. It is located only a short walk from the town centre and railway station. Rooms are small and basic but are certainly clean and very comfortable. Check in was friendly and efficient. Would definately stay here again.

While traveling during the Rugby World Cup, we had a few free days between rugby games so decided to find a place to stay in Bath. Unfortunately we hadn't considered how busy it could be there so didn't book ahead and ended up booking in Newport at the last minute (9:00 pm!) about an hour or so away from Bath.... More

Gentleman in charge was so very very helpful with directions etc. Trip to passport office so cheap budget accommodation all that was needed and this fitted the bill perfectly. Room was extremely small but spotless so what more can you ask. Only criticism was that the bed squeaked loudly for the most slightest of movements, you couldn't even turn over... More

The single room I was in was veey tiny, however it was clean with an adequate en suite and comfortable single bed. But the clincher for me was the large free car park, most unusual in a town centre location these days. For breakfast take a short downhill stroll to Wetherspoons (Queens Hotel), for a superb pint of cider or... More

Didn't want to stay in Cardiff as our journey early the next morning was the opposite direction but we made a mistake! Upon arrival at the hotel, there was no heat on and the room was freezing. As it was early afternoon so we went off to sightsee - fortunately while we were gone the heat was turned on. There... More

Stayed for one night in single room for a very low price. Greeted by a friendly and efficient member of staff. The room was tiny, I could hardly take my clothes out of my bag. The bathroom was clean and functional with a good shower, but the shower door kept detaching from the rail. It was a pleasant stay overall... More

We arrived late in town and had problems finding somewhere to stay until another hotel suggested the Night Lodge. The hotel is older but we were very happy with our room - it had the basic services we needed, even though it was fairly small and had a range of furniture. We were upstairs and found it a bit involved... More
