We stayed here one night with our two small children. The hotel is very dated but the room was very clean and they'd put more than enough beds in for us. We also had our Sunday lunch there before leaving and is was really nice and there was lots of it. We would stay again. more

Well where to start with the Roman Lodge, arrived late on the Friday night...what a shock when I got to the room - double bed that was 2 singles together, musky smell, cobwebs all over the lights and fittings, wardrobe on a hard wood floor panel that had been dusted/wiped around and had 1/2 inch of dust underneath. Then the... more

This hotel is kidding itself that £80 per room per night is what their rooms are worth. It would have been ok if they were charging £45 per room per night...no more. The "bathroom" was a broom cupboard, the shower rusty and mouldy and the size of the room was no better. Pokey, tired and in desperate need of some... more

I have never written a review before but this hotel is so awful I have to warn any one else that is thinking of spending £80 of their hard earned money. It is the worst place I have ever stayed. Where do I begin? Room decorated in the style of the 70's, with cobwebs to match. Bathroom a disgrace, the... more

me and my partner went to stay at the lodge a week ago...I have to say it's the worst place i've ever stayed. It certainly is stuck in Roman times. I felt like I had gone back in time as the interior was old, the beds were old, the carpets were minging, there were cracks in the ceiling, our room... more

I had tickets for a concert in Cardiff but left it to late to get somewhere in Cardiff so had to settle for being outside the city. The location was okay as they had extra trains running to and from Newport for the event, however the hotel wasn't that great. The rooms were small, smelly, cold and old fashioned. The... more

Do not stay in this hotel. For anyone going to events in Cardiff unable to get accomodation in the city itself stay in Bristol, novotel excellent wish we hadn't left it to move on to the Roman Lodge Hotel, what a dump. Train service from Bristol excellent after events at Millenium Stadium will know for next time. Well on arrival... more

This has to be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The room smelled of damp when we walked in and was cold. The furniture looked like it had been picked up from a jumble sale and the curtains didn't close properly. It was that cold (even though it's only mid October) in there, that when we... more
