Stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. Some rooms are small and all of them are very warm. Would be nice in winter but not so good in the summer. Fans are provided but the noise of them stops me sleeping. Had a room away from the pub so no disco noise. The room wasn't cleaned very well. The shower... More

Stayed here for a night visiting relatives as Cardiff hotels so expensive, and this was just under £40 for a double room. This is an old commercial hotel which is now owned by Wetherspoons, the room was not huge but spotlessly clean, with a decent sized modern shower room. Crisp white bedding, plenty of towels and spare pillows, tea/coffee tray and... More

Stayed here in march this year with husband and kids. Hotel is nice, clean and quite spacious. Right in the centre of newport with plenty of shops on the doorstep. Food in adjacent pub was lovely. Staff were very helpful and chatty. I would recommend this hotel but not for families with small children. Although we enjoyed our stay the... More

Stayed here in May just travelling through. There was nothing else available and we gave this place a go. It was a Friday night and we where advised by the staff that the band could be a bit noisy. Well, we stayed in the room directly above the Hotel entrance and we all slept though any noise that may have... More

We stayed here on Saturday and Sunday night. The staff were welcoming, room was clean and well equipped and yes we got a good sleep on both nights! I have to say a Saturday night out in Newport is not for the faint hearted but Sunday was better!

Having read the reviews on this hotel prior to staying I was expecting the place to be very loud but it was far from that. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist when I arrived and checked out and my room on the second floor was very clean and tidy. The Shower if anything was slightly too powerful. There was... More

Having not read the reviews before booking and read them after we were a little concerned but everything was fine. It's a Wetherspoons so we expect some noise and on arrival were told that Friday and Saturdays are DJ nights so we could hear noise, but to honest it was fine. Ok you can hear people shouting and stuff but... More
