I've been a regular customer at the Queens Hotel over the last year or so and always found it cheap and good value. However, going online to book a room for the coming weekend I was shocked to see their prices have now doubled and in some cases tripled to £100 for single room. This is ridiculous as you can... Our room was large and comfortable but situated next to noisy fans on both sides which roared all night long meaning we had a very disturbed night. Dreadful . We had stAyed before and found it ok for the odd night but would not go back. No matter how cheap. 52 pounds on this occasion.

Well situated in the middle of Newport and above the JD Weatherspoon pub. Room was large and clean; staff very friendly. Stayed on a Friday night (in the room directly above the pub entry) and although other reviews mentioned noise from revellers leaving the pub, I heard very little.

Stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. Some rooms are small and all of them are very warm. Would be nice in winter but not so good in the summer. Fans are provided but the noise of them stops me sleeping. Had a room away from the pub so no disco noise. The room wasn't cleaned very well. The shower... More

Stayed here for a night visiting relatives as Cardiff hotels so expensive, and this was just under £40 for a double room. This is an old commercial hotel which is now owned by Wetherspoons, the room was not huge but spotlessly clean, with a decent sized modern shower room. Crisp white bedding, plenty of towels and spare pillows, tea/coffee tray and... More

Stayed here in march this year with husband and kids. Hotel is nice, clean and quite spacious. Right in the centre of newport with plenty of shops on the doorstep. Food in adjacent pub was lovely. Staff were very helpful and chatty. I would recommend this hotel but not for families with small children. Although we enjoyed our stay the... More
