I have just spent 2 nights here and suffice it to say, it was not the best. I mentioned that there was a vibrating/humming noise as soon as you walked into the room & was told it was the AC units, i was then moved to another room above the back of the bar, noisy cellar fans going all night,... Not a bad hotel, a bit like a tired Travelodge, but it was crazily noisy! It wasn't so much that you could hear the music, more that you could feel it coming up through the floor and the bed. I had to drink a lot of wine. It probably didn't help that we were there over a bank holiday weekend,... More

I paid 27 pounds per night on laterooms.com and could hardly believe the quality of my single room. It was beautifully decorated and an appropriate size for one person. It had everything I needed and the bathroom was particularly well laid out. The meals at the pub underneath were also very good and the free wifi also worked in my... More

Me and my partner have stayed here on two occasions and both times been very satisfied! We paid around 30-40 for the stay per night which we felt was reasonable as the Travelodge across the road wanted £60!! It’s in a nice location, easy to get to! There are plenty of food places around which offer reasonable priced food. The... More

It was average experience in Queens hotel. Rooms are very small. We pre-booked the room still when we enetered there it was already used by some one and it was in a bad shape and not cleaned but when told the staff they gave us other room. Regular cleaning of room was not done. Pub is there downstairs and it... More

Good clean hotel, rooms are spotlessly clean and well equipped - bathroom I had was absoultely top notch! BUT noise is an issue - I arrived at Midnight and the loud music went on until well after one! Add to this the fact that the public toilets were on the first floor and away from the bar area - and... Having read other reviews here, I knew that it was likely to be a bit noisy, but nothing prepared me for how loud it was. We stayed at the hotel while attending a rugby match in Cardiff. All we wanted was somewhere to crash. The hotel is actually pretty nice. It was decorated to a good standard. Our room was... More

The standards much exceed our expectations for a budgest hotel, however please be advised if you stay on a weekend night the nightclub/pub music downstairs can go on till 3 am. The bass is clearly audible in at least some of the rooms.

We stayed here when we went to Cardiff to see Take That. We only payed £49 for the 2 of us for the night. We didn't know what to expect for this sort of money. The service here is fantastic and friendly and everyone we dealt with was polite. The room was absolutely fantastic for this sort of money. Comfy,... More

We stayed here for one night while visiting a relative in Newport. Very happy with the standard of the room and bathroom. Spotlessly clean, comfy bed, good towels, tea and coffee etc. I imagine it could be very noisy at the weekend (most of the centre of Newport is due to the number of nightclubs etc) but on a Monday...
