Only stay as a last resort. We paid £95 a night - there was no telly, a large crack in the window that let the noise in, only 1 bedside table, no bedside lamps, no mirror in the room (only in toilet), light fittings hanging off the ceiling. We were not advised how to enter the building after hours, we... More

The hotel is in a not nice part of town...in fact, the surrounding area is rough. On street parking if you dare. The room was ok, shower worked, the welcome was really nice once I managed to get in. (There was a sign on the door with an instruction to ring a mobile number for access). The worst thing about... More

Stayed here May 2014 myself, Husband and 2 friends. The place is a bit run down and needs a good update- and can see by the high ceilings it was in its hay day a beautiful building. We paid £20 PHPN- The room was tidy, bedding and towels clean. The staff was friendly and pleasant. What more could you want... More

Stayed for four nights, room was okay, bed comfortable, but, heating was on full blast with no way of turning down, shower was red hot, couldn't get all channels on the TV as there was a problem with the aerial. Website & photos don't really give a true representation. J D Wetherspoons as cheap, with more eating options around it.

I went with my bf to Southwales for bank holiday weekend and everywhere was booked. Fortunately we manage to find a hotel on booking.com - after my confirmation was confirmed I called the hotel to double check. The lady I spoke to was really helpful and had to call me back because all the rooms were booked. After she called... More

Stayed here when we went to watch the rugby. Check in was fine and we were shown to our room. When we got in there the bed was broken, bathroom tiles were broken, toilet seat was broken, taps were loose and the tv was screwed to the ceiling and was not given a remote to put it on. Had a... More

I was working down in Newport for the week and had booked based on the images and quality of their website - I'd seen some bad reviews but dismissed them as sour-grapes - that was my first mistake. The second mistake was paying for the whole week in advance - I didn't see any staff again until I checked out.... More

I could have climed everest and been closer to the ground floor. We had an uneven floor, a dirty toilet and no telly. We only booked the hotel because to pictures looked good on the website. We checked in at lunch time but were told that the room wasn't ready, so we left our bags in the car and went off to watch the rugby in Cardiff. We returned at around 11pm to be met by the manager who said "you're lucky I was just locking up". The reception area is locked up and the only... More

Arrived here at approx 1800 on a Friday evening and stood in reception for around 10 minutes while the guy manning the show played with his mobile. Was then shown to a large room, the bedding was really clean. The en suite was extremely dirty and no attempt to clean it had been made. The shower did not work and... More
