Friendly staff, nice, quiet stay, not far from the city centre, or the central bus station. Lovely garden view from the hotel room, and the room has classic Victorian outlook. Good breakfast. Will recommend to others.

We had a good stay here to go Christmas shopping, the rooms are old fashioned in style but it was clean and tidy and functional, tea and coffee in room, car park at rear, no wifi but didn't ask either so may have just needed a password? Rooms were hot but was cold outside so was nice and a good... More

You get what you pay for. About a 10 minutes walk to the centre. The rooms are old looking and make sure if you book a triple you actually then request one. Very misleading. The staff were friendly enough but nothing special. Wi-fi did not work despite several attempts. Overall basic and I wouldn't stay again. But if for one... More

Its a lovely property, very friendly and an excellent well cooked full breakfast. My only negative points I raised was about the bathroom and stairway in the top room the lights dident work but they have said they will address that. That was the first time ive been there as normally stay nearby but liked the place and I will... More

Very quirky hotel, The Adams family meets Jumange, The receptionist was great and extremely helpfull. I was sent here with work, so was on my own. Breakfast was worth the fiver, I was shocked to find a four poster bed, Its well located for the City centre but without the noise, It's a about a 15 minute walk to the... More

Décor, fixtures and fittings appear to be from the 70s, as did the perma-tan sausage presented to me as part of the full English breakfast. The top-floor triple room (no.15) was at least bright and airy - a welcome contrast to the tiny, windowless attic room (no.18) I had originally been offered on arrival. However, the next day my belongings... More

I stayed in this place for 2 unfortunate nights. The hotel is very outdated and ugly decoration-wise, but this is ok as it is suppossed to be a cheap hotel (BUT more expensive than a holiday inn so it was a stupid idea to stay here as it was filthy read more) First night we stayed at the attic which... We have a laundry service with crisp white sheets and quilts, stripped daily, so I really don't understand where your comments are coming from? The toilet rim was yellow but it was yellow toilet cleaner, which does look like urine so I have changed the product. The last 2 negative reviews are yours !! rooms have been checked and reported to... More

I stayed here for just one night and was pleased to be given a quiet room, which I'd requested. It was a warm day so naturally the room was very warm, eventually cooling down much later at night - no fan or A/C but I had already guessed that for the price, it would be basic. It was a lovely... Booked late evening, very welcoming. Lovely, if a bit old fashioned. Good beds. Full English breakfast in price. Well done all round. Great to have help with suit case. If ever go back to Cardiff and need an overnight I would go back.
