Everything looks quite worn and old, but clean enough and works all right. Location is perfect though, being very close to the coach station, shopping malls and Cardiff Castle. Check-ins and Check-outs, plus breakfast is at Sandringham Hotel across the street. The stairs were a pain though as the stairwells were narrow and had tight corners. Lugging my suitcase up... More

Very tired budget hotel with its only redeeming factor being its central location and 2 minute walk to Millennium Stadium. It is worth no more than £30 per night and on concert days - simply due to its amazing location - no more than £60! The hotel is over 5 floors, above a fried chicken shop and my room (no.... More

Thank you for your review I am sorry that you have not enjoyed your stay. I was already aware of your comments and we have taken them on board in good faith. Rooms are currently in the process of getting painted. The Sandringham Hotel has different owners to us but we pay to use their reception to include dealing with... More

This lodge is pretty basic. The location is great, and for groups it has spacious rooms with an en suite bathroom. I travelled with 4 other girls, we were travelling for a night out. I was dreading this Lodge when we all decided to book, but it was the cheapest we could find and didn't want to spend over £40... More

Thank you Paige for your review. I am glad you have enjoyed most parts of your stay. There is different room types on each level so this is why your rooms will have been apart. I agree the walls do need painting and we are in the process of doing this. We have a lot of positive reviews as well... More

My room was fine. Clean, tidy with plenty of room. Good shower. The only real drawback was two steep flight of stairs. Had to give a £20 deposit for the key at the Sandringham. Check in easy. The motel is actually better than it looks from the outside. Outside is only one small doorway. I wanted a cheap and cheerful... More

I reviewed this hotel a few months ago and as was back in Cardiff decided to stay again. As per my last stay the hotel is pretty basic but amazing value for money. Again the rooms are very clean although a little run down. I slept well although if I can make one suggested please replace the mattress in room... More

After reading reviews on here to say that I wasn't looking forward to my stay is an understatement. However, I was genuinely surprised, it wasn't all that bad. I can't comment on the checking in process as my friend checked in prior to my arrival, though I do know that you must check in at another hotel, it's just across... More

Thank you very much for your balanced review. I am glad that you have enjoyed your stay. Please note that whilst we have no reception on site there is a telephone in the room. This connects to the hotel across the road that you checked in to and is open 24 hours a day. Kind regards, Chris More

I have a little time to spare and after reading some of the reviews, i thought I'd add my own. So read on, as you may be surprised like myself! This would be my third stay in the ML lodge now. I would honestly say that I would choose this hotel over any in the city centre as overall it... More

I stayed in this hotel for initially one night and another night after my meeting ran over. The second night the hotel went out of their way to get me a room, phoning me to confirm they had managed to sort a room. Firstly each room I stayed in way pretty basic and dated... The carpets were worn and the... More

Dirty, not really a budget hotel, room 7 at the top , way to many stairs, had hardly any sleep what so ever with noise from the street (Tuesday night) glad it wasn't a weekend with the pubs and clubs, it was as if the window was open , would NOT recommend to anyone !

I am very sorry that you have not enjoyed your stay. We are very centrally located but not next to any pubs or clubs so I am also frustrated that there was street noise especially early in the week. This is rare. We do have rooms off the main street and these can be requested. We do as you say... More
