I've stayed here a few times. The hotel used to be an office block and still has a bit of a look & feel of one. The benefit is that there is plenty of space in the public areas and every room has a huge expanse of windows. The rooms all have a nice bathroom with separate bath tub &... more

Very nice hotel and excellent spacious room overlooking Cardiff. Lovely big windows with great view but needed cleaning. King bed spacious. Beautiful bathroom. Spa facilities disappointing. If you want a massage book before you get there as they could not fit me in over the four days that I was staying. Minor point but teabags and biscuits not replaced each... more

The hotel isn't very pretty from the outside but seeing as there are no boutique hotel options in Cardiff we settled for the Mercure as previous reviews on this site mentioned the views. We asked for a room as high up as possible and we were very surprised that our standard room was so big. 1403 is located on the... more

I recently stayed in this hotel and was pleasantly surprised! This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed! Despite that I arrived earlier than 2 pm, I was given a room and an upgrade. The staff is very polite, informative, cheerful, pleasant, friendly, and professional! I stayed on the 9th floor with superb views of Cardiff. The room... more

My boyfriend took me to this hotel for my 21st a year ago, it was such a lovely relaxing stay that we came back again for our anniversary! Our room was on the 11th floor with great views accross the city (even better as it snowed overnight!) The room itself was spotless, and enormous. Spa and pool were lovely and... more

My partner and I managed to get a cheap deal on the internet and were more than pleasantly surprised on or arrival. The hotel staff were not particularly friendly but the room itself and the view were great the only slight improvement is the windows could have been cleaner. Would definitely stay again : ) more

Have stayed before and really enjoyed it. This time though, the restaurant has changed radically. A la carte offers burger and chips, cod and chips, sausage and mash, poached chicken etc. Wetherspoons food at 4 star prices. Commented on leaving and told due to recession. Strange, as still had two chefs on duty and two waitresses for the five people... more

Nice Hotel, room very spacious, excellent location, good choice of breakfast, evening meal very disappointing as all of the food was prepared. Cardiff well worth a visit, also Cardiff Bay too. more

First look at the hotel website, some really good deals - we got two nights with dinner the first night and breakfast for both days at a really good rate better than a number of consolidator websites. The rooms are quite large and well equipped, gym and pool really good and kept clean.I went for a swim at the end... more
