I've been here many times the food is usually lovely. Small portions scallops. The staff are becoming increasingly arrogant. Unfortunately because if this I will not return. The price is enough. The staff do not live up to the foot/chef

Lovely accommodation. We stayed the room over looking the village of Taffs Well. Choice of bath or shower. We ate in the restaurant for the two evenings we stayed there. The food was extremely good. All the staff are very friendly too. The public bar was busy serving a good choice of real ales and has a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was... More

We recently visited for a Christmas party. We were a party of 10 and had a lovely welcome. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. Overall was a lovely experience which made our time a special one. Thanks again :))

As soon as I stepped through the door, soaked and tired from a long day I was given a very warm welcome, my very heavy suitcase was carried for me to my beautiful, huge bedroom. After settling in I made my way to the restaurant which I expected to be dead on a Monday night - I was wrong, full... More

We visited on a Saturday lunch time. The location is a little off the beaten track, but I like this! On arriving, the car park was pretty full, but fortunately we managed to squeeze in nicely and proceeded to the bar. We were greeted well by the bar man who advised that he would reserve the next free table for... More

We have been regular visitors to this venue and love the food and the real ale so much that we decided to have our wedding reception here at the end of August 2014. We met with the manager, Rob who was very friendly and professional and booked for over 40 guests. In some restaurants, when there is a large group... More

Decided to visit as a Friday night treat. Booked a table for 2 but went early for a drink. Bar was small and friendly and a band were setting up for live music later. went upstairs to the resturant, nice table and good selection on the board. Food was very good and we didn't feel rushed. 2 courses, bottle of... More

Been here loads of times but have never done a review, probably because I take it for granted. We live about 15 miles from the Garth but go walking up the mountain regularly with the lively springer spaniel. The pub is very welcoming and dog friendly. The food is to die for and the staff are warm and friendly. It... More

Expected to pop in for a small lunch in the bar. Walked in and was greeted so encouragingly that we had a main meal in the restaurant part. With drinks and the two fantastic and substantial meals the bill came to just under £40 - excellent VFM. One of us had a steak pie which to die for whilst I... More

We first came across this pub when we went for a walk with our 2 Golden retrievers over the Garth Mountain which is behind the Pub. It is so dog friendly and popular also with mountain bikers. We now frequent it often for fab food and local craft beers and ciders. Peters pub quiz on Tuesdays is hilarious what a... More
