We first came across this pub when we went for a walk with our 2 Golden retrievers over the Garth Mountain which is behind the Pub. It is so dog friendly and popular also with mountain bikers. We now frequent it often for fab food and local craft beers and ciders. Peters pub quiz on Tuesdays is hilarious what a... More

We stopped here for one night before the Speedway Grand Prix in Cardiff. The rooms are of a good size, very clean and well equipped. The evening meal and service were excellent and good value, the menu informs you from where everything is sourced, this is not pub chain food. Breakfast was very good and we were made to feel... We had Sunday lunch here, it was marvellous, staff lovely, food excellent and plentiful, we really enjoyed our afternoon here, it was a real treat. It's close to Cardiff where we were staying but it is in the countryside which was wonderful as the city is great but we come from Cornwall and it reminded us of home.

Attended last nite with my partner for a birthday meal. Whilst the food was a good standard. The upstairs restaurant was overbooked. The bar downstairs in shabby and not in keeping with the advertised 'micro brewery vibe'. The gentleman that served proceeded to try and tell me how to eat my moules Marienier which I found embarrassing and rude. Spoling... More

Have eaten here several times, most recently for a midweek lunch. Busy pub atmosphere, good choice of food, including a number of specials. One of our party had the hake special, which she said was nicest she had had in a long while. Service is very attentive and friendly.

This is a very comfortable place with a touch of luxury. The accommodation is smart, clean and tidy and well appointed. Accessed by a separate entrance giving a feeling of security. The views particularly from the upstairs restaurant encompassed the whole of the valley. The food is excellent, and the service appropriate. The best rump steak I've ever had in... More

This pub is well worth the 10 /15 minutes it takes to get off the A 470 to reach. Even from the car park you could smell cooking! Our first visit, we were cordially welcomed, offered a table in the bar but my Mum couldn't manage the stairs down to it, we were given a bright table by the window... More

Probably the best place I have ever stayed. I originally arrived intending to stay one night. I was made so welcome and enjoyed it so much, I stayed for 3! The staff are outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. I was on my own travelling so I was introduced to some of the locals who again were absolutely lovely. The... More
