We stayed for two nights recently in a cosy cottage accommodation behind the Inn. This was absolutely fine. We ate there on Friday night and planned to eat in Cardiff on Saturday night. The meal and service was so good that we ate at Gwaelod Y Garth Inn on Saturday night too. Breakfasts were good quality, cooked to order and... More

Visited this Inn for a birthday meal with 5 friends. Log fire burned in a cosy bar with Christmas decorations dotted about. We dined upstairs in a very comfortable dining area. Staff very helpful and a good choice menu. Excellent food and service and reasonably priced. Will be visiting there again.

What a great B&B this is! Right from the moment we arrived we felt very at home. The room was spotless and comfortable. The location was excellent - handy for the city by train but outside of the big city bustle. But most of all we enjoyed the friendly kindness of everyone we met, that and the fabulous breakfast.

What a lovely, friendly, welcoming place this is. We arrived in time for lunch and had a very good meal in the restaurant. The menu offers a good selection, the food is well cooked and the service is friendly and efficient. We went into Cardiff to watch rugby and returned later in the evening for a drink in the bar.... 7 of us turned up yesterday afternoon without booking in advance and were given a lovely welcome. Staff rearranged furniture to accommodate us. We ordered a variety of steaks cooked beautifully according to requests and a fabulous dish from the specials board of hake with mussels, clams and cockles - stunning! Delicious deserts completed the meal. It isn't cheap but... More

My husband and I just got back from a 3 week trip in the UK and Gwaelod was our favorite place to stay. We were there from Aug 21 through Aug 23. The room/bathroom were always clean, warm, very spacious and cozy and the bed was comfortable offering a great nights sleep. The staff was more than helpful, friendly and... More

Travelled from Doncaster with the dogs to see the Monte Dons at the Gwaelod-y Garth Inn cider and sausage festival. What a lovely night. We stopped the night in the hotel. A very busy night and the most fantastic helpful pleasant staff ive come across in a very long time. Even after working a very long day, the ladies couldnt... More

We spent two nights here in a separate building up the lane from the Inn. Our accommodation had two bedrooms and a full kitchen with coffee, tea and milk and a bathroom with shower. The towels were the largest and most absorbent ever! We found the rooms to be rather cold, partly because we were jet-lagged and also because we... More

My wife managed to find this beautiful inn tucked at a quiet corner at the outskirts of Cardiff. I found the roads leading to the inn narrow and confusing, especially driving a French rental Peugeot with lousy GPS. We were the only Asians there and I think my wife found it awkward that everyone at the pub stared at her... More

We booked two nights at the Gwaelod y Garth Inn and ended up with a five night stay! The rooms are quaint, comfortable and clean, but our favorite feature was the friendliness expressed to us by owners, Rich and Barbara - and their wonderful staff. They all made an effort to pull up a chair and visit with us each... More
