Although this hotel is not all bad (rooms were clean), there are some major pitfalls which may disrupt your stay. It is surrounded by noisy bars and clubs that go on to 4-6 am at the weekends and you can hear the noise very clearly if you are unfortunate enough to have a room at the front of the hotel.... more

Horrible experience. Worst Travelodge I have ever been in. It is in a great location and I got a good deal on the price but I would have happily paid more to get a decent night's sleep. The lodge is above a pub and some night clubs. The banging beat from the night club went on until after 3am. It... more

I stayed in Travellodge with my husband from 17th April-19th April, we were attending a wedding in the Cardiff area. We did not opt for early check in as friends of ours were already staying here so we just left our things with them til later that night. Checked in around 12.30 nighttime, was given room 106... all i can... more

Hotel is above WALKABOUT bar and some more late night bars, opposite various nightclubs. ON arrival reception service was very blasay (sorry cant spell) and they didnt look the part either, smudged make up, creashed uniform and wearing jeans. Our room (107) was facing the front and the inside of the room was easily viewed by revellers stood outside of... more

It's in a good position,a short stroll from the train station and within a short walk to all major shops, the castle and the millenium stadium, the only downside don't expect to get much sleep there. There are major roadworks going on outside the hotel, and the workmen start about 07:30,so an early rude awakening, would not stay there again until these have been finished.And... more

stayed here for 1 night in November and it was an awful experience. got to hotel at 2.50pm tired after journey the receptionist was downright rude, there was no 'hello' just gritted teeth and was told to go away and come back at 3pm or else pay an extra tenner. When we did check in the bed was not made... more

I stayed here last night and have to say the noise was terrible. Not from the club next door though but from the seaguls in the rubbish skip directly below my room. Then the bin men came at around 5am and wow! it was like I was right next to them as they chatted away and their lorry made the... more

This hotel is the worst i've ever stayed in! We stayed for 5 nights in October just for a city break. The window in the room didn't close properly letting in a draft and lots of exterior noise. The bed was so uncomfortable it gave me back pain through out the holiday and i'm only 23! The electronic lock on... more

Cardiff Central is definitely the grubbiest Travel Lodge I've ever been to. The room was of a decent size and the bed was comfortable but my friends and I were slightly disappointed with the child size single pillows. The extra sofa bed, which thankfully didn't have to be used, looked like it had been picked off the top of a... more
