Booked an afternoon tea for three friends at the restaurant within the hotel. Were greeted and served by a very friendly waitress called Lucy. A variety of sandwiches, cakes and cream and jam scones were presented which were all delicious with plenty of tea and coffee. We sat at a very comfortable table with pleasant surroundings and relaxed in a... More

Whilst the actual afternoon tea was pleasant enough (with a little room for improvement - coffee could have been warmer, some of the cakes were mediocre), five stars must go to the excellent service. Only one lady working the bar area but she coped effortlessly and delivered service with a smile. She was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. About... More

Where's the managers? Where's the guest customer service ? Arriving eight at night we found one ( inexperienced young ) man on the reception and a queue which grew and grew - where was the management that spotting the unhappy guests and dealt with the situation ? The rooms - well I would say shabby and slightly smelling of smoke... More

Pleasant relaxed environment even though the decor is in need of being updated. The afternoon tea was quite average; the sandwiches were slightly hard/dry at edges and the fruit scone was definately warmed in the microwave as it was hard at the edge. I am glad I had a voucher for this as I would not have paid full price... More

We checked into the Holiday Inn during a visit to family in the valleys. This would be my first stay at Holiday Inn since they focused on the budget type Holiday Inn Express brand, we weren’t expecting too much to be frank. The hotel is ideally located for tourism, shopping and business, located across the road from Cardiff Castle. Bedrooms... More

Great location opposite the castle, with the Millennium Stadium directly behind the hotel. However, check in is a nightmare, even if you are only the second person in the queue, expect to be kept waiting for 10 - 15 mins and then a further 10 mins while they try to locate your booking! The room had a lovely view of... More

Staff in the hotel restaurant where also very pleasant food was served in a timely manner. Quality of food in the hotel is average, but there... More

Our trip to Cardiff was to watch the cricket so this was the best hotel location we could have. Plenty of car parking spaces and a 10 to 15 minutes walk through the park to the Swalec stadium. Our Executive room was on the 6th floor and window looking over the Millennium Stadium and the river. The room was very... More

Stayed on 6th floor room 210 and were overlooking cardiff arms park! Within walking distance of the SWALECstadium to watch day 3 of the Ashes cricket and also easy walk into the city for great shops and bars. Thought it what a little overpriced but I guess that's because the ashes were on. Also room a little dated and no... More

I fell out of the pub and straight into bed! What a result! Great location. My room had the view of the millennium stadium. Room was air conditioned, big and clean. Bathroom was a bit pokey, but it's useable. Would definitely use again if I was out on another stag doo!
