The Holiday Inn is located just down the road from Cardiff Castle and so is very close to all the main shops etc. Rooms were very clean and modern and reasonably quiet at nght. The meals in the restaurant weren't exactly inspiring and it was the same choice for the 4 nights we stayed. Staff were not particulary efficient though... more

We stayed here for 2 nights before a football match. The hotel is within a 5 minute walk from the main train station and within seconds from the main shopping/dining/drinking street. it is also very walkable to the Millenium stadium, and the Castle. It is possible to walk to the new football stadium across from Ninian Park, but there is... more

No issues at all with this hotel. Perfect location in the centre of Cardiff, with easy walking access to Cardiff Central Train station, and all the main areas of Cardiff. Staff were very pleasant, and looked after all our needs. Room was brilliant, with a big bathroom, and excellent views of the river, and my friends rooms had good views... more

I stayed there for two nights recently. Firstly the upsides. Room was fine, though we had the executive rooms which are bigger than others, so I believe. Breakfast was fine, though could have been open for later on, as we felt a little bit rushed. However, we were staying in the week, and they do so on weekends. Downside is... more

Stayed here for four nights. First two nights I roasted in my room as the heating had gone wrong and could not be turned off or down from 26 degrees. Eventually got moved to a new room. The room was 'TINY' with hardly enough space to get around the bed. The problems then continued. The next day my room was... more

Have just returned from a weekend at the Holiday Inn Cardiff City. On the plus side, location is very good, directly opposite Bute Gardens next to Castle and close to all amenities, Shopping, Millenium Stadium, Castle, River, Civic Centre etc. Overall the standard was very good, staff friendly & efficient, rooms good size and well furnished, though bathrooms small. General... more

Only spent one night in this excellent hotel as there to watch the ODI cricket match - sadly a washout! However the hotel made amends for the weather. The location is great - next to the Millennium Stadium - central for shopping, the castle and only a short walk to the Swalec stadium. We were upgraded to a family room... more

The hotel is right next to the stadium, which is probably great if you are there to watch the rugby. Not so great when you get woken up at 9am on a sunday to Xfactor auditions though- if its a reasonable about of quiet that you are after i would suggest the Hilton Cardiff instead. The bathroom was barely stocked,... more
