Friendly staff, a tired old Travelodge though, staff worked hard in the hotel.same cant be said about the partner pub, the Toby Carvery. The breakfast was awful, I have had better at road side chuck wagons and the chef(if he was one) just never cared. Dont bother with the restaurant breakfast, the service is dire and the food is disgsuting

After our 1,238 mile 'CymruRoadTrip2014' my daughter and I stayed our last night in the Whitchurch Travelodge, just a couple of miles outside Cardiff on the Merthyr Tydfil road. The lad that was there when we arrived was polite and helpful. The room was spotless however, and here is why I only gave it a "very good" rating the shower... More

Loved the old look to this cosy room and using a proper key too felt like being at home also the bathroom was a decent size. Bed was really comfy too One thing would note...book downstairs here if your planning on getting drunk on a night out in Cardiff- there's no lift so you'll struggle to walk up the stairs... More

Stayed here for convenience as family member lives 5mins away in Cardiff. Staff very helpful and friendly. Stayed two nights. Rooms clean, except for windows covered in lots of cobwebs! Furniture (bedside tables and dressing table) ancient ! No hairdryer (have to ask), really nothing in room except bed, dressing table and small travel kettle, two mugs, sachets of tea... More

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Cardiff, in particular the Doctor Who Experience. We had 2 family rooms between the 6 of us. While this is an older Travelodge, the rooms were extremely clean and tidy. There were plenty of towels, tea, coffee, sugar and milk. The staff were very helpful indeed, and the hotel was attached to... More

We were attending a wedding last weekend near Cardiff, the Whitchurch travelodge was ideally placed! Couple of miles from Cardiff and the venue. We booked for 3 nights but only ended up staying 2. Our room was on 2nd floor, it was very small, extremely hot and smelt throughout the stay, of the Toby Carvery food cooking below, outside of... More

Stayed for 2 nights for the recent speedway GP. Hotel - check in staff efficient, found the room clean, bed comfy, looked like the room had recently been decorated, which having read recent reviews I think we were lucky. Shower had a pump system which was noisy, but only lasted whilst the shower was running. The most disappointing aspect was... More

I could just about handle being placed in the last available room which backed on to the back door of the kitchen next door and the noise that came from that. However, on the second night my corridor became noisy with a Hen party who even set of the smoke alarm at 1AM. Management / staff failed to take any... More

Good place to stay for visiting Cardiff, cheaper than the city centre travelodge. Quiet room overlooking the car park. The hotel was a little dated but clean and the mattress was good. Would definitely use again. Cheap and cheerful.
