The room appeared to have been adapted from a disabled room to a twin. The access around the beds was poor. The televsion did not work and many pof the electrical sockets also did not work. The establishment is primarily a Restaurant and to be fair advertises itself as a Restaurant with Rooms. It is poor value just for bed... more

We stayed at the old post office at the end of january with some friends after finding a great deal on the internet for a nights stay including dinner and breakfast. we had a fabulous meal with plenty of wine which was very reasonably priced. The rooms are quite modern and a good size, there are no baths but the... more

I wanted something special as my daughter was graduating as a Doctor so decided on The Old Post Office. The accommodation was adequate, we had a double room and a twin room. We were unable to get the lights to work properly and 2 of the electric sockets did not work but reasonable clean and comfortable. The food however was... more

Simon and team agreed to be the backbone to our wedding at St Fagan's castle in August 2007. Nothing was too much trouble and the food prepared for the wedding breakfast and evening buffet was out of this World. Over 6 months later i am still to enjoy as good a meal. The accommodation was spotless and comfortable, with luxury... more

Had to pop down to Cardiff for work and had found this place a while ago in one of the food books, so arranged to stay and eat here. Although I was the only person staying, and, due to rather inclement weather it turned out, the only person eating too, I didn't feel that marred the experience any. My room... more

Having known Simon in his past careers and knowing what an excellent chef he is, myself and my husband booked our wedding reception at the Old Post Office. As we were getting married in St Fagans castle it was perfect. I stayed in a fabulous room on the eve of our wedding enjoying the peace and quiet to relax me... more

A nice room but a little pricy. The room itself was big with modern lighting. The bathroom was qute small with just a shower (no bath). Toiletries - molten brown, a nice suprise. The shower was quite small, a tight squeeze for anyone of above average build/height. The tiles were discoloured with mildew. There was no phone in the room... more

My husband and i enjoyed the best weekend we have had away in a long time here. The room was light and airy with comfy beds (huge by the way), the service was superb and the food was absolutely fantastic. Simon's use of local produce combined with the best of everything else he gets is truly great. We can't wait... more

I stayed for two nights at the Old Post Office in St Fagans in late November 2006 with my husband and our 3-year-old daughter. The new owner (Simon and his partner) had only taken the place over two weeks before but we shouldn't have worried because we could not have been more impressed with the food, service and whole ambience... more

I travel to Cardff regularly on business and the last two times i have been lucky enough to stay here. Not a true hotel, but a restaurant with rooms, for those not familar wth the concept, the emphasis is on the food wih a lower level of hotel services. Well known for it's excellent cuisine, the hotel has recently been... more
