When you arrive you get the impression of faded old-world charm. Then you proceed upstairs and encounter an old grubby fire-door! Oh, dear! You open it and enter a narrow grotty corridor. Clean but something of the ilk of a 1950s Blackpool B&B. I stayed in a single room. It too was clean but a real old bodge-job. At some... more
The Courtfield Hotel was a perfect venue for our recent weekend. Clean and comfortable surroundings, an easy stroll from the city centre, and with great hosts in Keith and Norman, it was all we could ask for. It must have been full to capacity as it was the weekend of Wales v England in the rugby, as well as being... more
I booked this hotel over the phone and found my booking was dealt with very quickly and efficiently and the owner was very friendly. The room was clean and tidy with a lovely en-suite shower and toilet and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel is very traditional with a beautiful entrance hall in Victorian decor in keeping with the... more
I have stayed at Courtfield Hotel many times over the past decade, in different rooms, both singly and with my former partner, and had developed a high opinion of this hotel. I recently had occasion to spend a weekend there again and my opinion remains as high as ever. Its cosy ambience, well appointed and clean rooms, and the friendly... more

Shower temperature uncontrollable. Strange welcome and welcome area. Definitely overpriced and uncomfortable... more

I really liked the warm, cosy feel to this hotel. It is situated really conveniently- only a short walk to the town centre. The owners are very friendly and will go out of their way to make sure their guests are happy. A lovely stay! more
Having stayed here a number of times I always find Keith & Norman extremely welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. All of my rooms have been very clean and comfortable. This time I had a newly decorated single room, with a fantastic shower. It is such great value for money - only 10mins from all the shops/stadium etc. No... more
