Lovely hotel although in a Main Street it's the sign is above a bar and entrance to side of bar, lift down steps in foyer. Once you are finally in reception it's lovel and you are greeted by very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms themselves are quite small, but suited us as we were only in Cardiff for the... More

Stayed here last night whilst in Cardiff to attend a conference. My room was a long way from the lift and involved walking down many corridors. The room was located at the end of a corridor at the back of the hotel. As a woman walking alone this made me feel very vulnerable and I would have preferred to be... More

We stayed here for a weekend away, only choose this hotel for the great location in the centre and for the reasonable price we weren't expecting the great room and service we got! For the price we were expecting travel lodge type rooms and service but boy were we wrong, when we arrived we were greeted by to smiling receptionists... More

Great overnight stay midweek as we were in the city with 4 friendsto see a comedian in the Motorpoint Stadium. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Spare pillows in the wardrobe would have been a good extra but didnt ask for them as we were on quite a tight schedule on arrival day. Bed comfortable, linen great, towels good... More

The location is perfect, very central- down the road from cardiff castle and very short walk from the train station. Upon arrival we were able to store our luggage until our room was ready. The room and the bathroom were both quite large. It was quite clean- there were a few scuff marks about but nothing major. Big screen TV... More

Iv just returned from a weekend stay in cardiff for the rugby..Wales v Austriala. The Royal was a perfect basecamp..rite smack in the middle of the city..a few hundred mtrs from the stadium and carpark. The room was very good and clean, lovely comfortable twin beds, now for some points of concern..we arrived just after 9am and were told we... More

Stayed here for one night and enjoyed it. The hotel is in very central Cardiff about 5 mins walk from the main railway station and at the end of the now pedestrianised St Mary Street which is popular for its bars and restaurants. There is currently a nearby multi-storey car park which the hotel offers a discounted rate. Location is... More

Booked 4 rooms for our overnight stay in Cardiff. The location is the best in the city centre, the hotel is fantastic value for money. The rooms are clean and well appointed, the facilities are great especially the hotel bar. Really good staff and good hotel, would stay again.

Stayed for one night midweek to celebrate my wife's birthday. We booked a deluxe room which was fab with lovely views over the city. The hotel was very chic and nicely decorated. The bar offered a 3-for-2 drinks offer which we took advantage of !!.The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The only downside was that... More
