We stayed at the Royal Hotel for one night. The room was quite small and very noisy due to the room facing the street. The price definitely reflect the location but for the price we paid, I would have expected to be able to wash my hair!

Nicely decorated room but a bit small.Bed was good, bathroom was fine. Whole room was clean and pleasant. Didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. Location-wise it's right in the city centre and very handy for the main bus and train stations.

Shabby would be a kind description for the hotel's entrance, front desk, service, room size, room conditions, cleanliness... and even its 'central' location is dubious because there is literally NO way to get here by car. We spent a night here. Couldn't be more central for Cardiff, however, be warned that some of the rooms are inside rooms and have no windows.
