I could have complained about many things in this place ...... yes it could do with a complete overhaul .... especially the motel part, where we were. Yes the pipes were a little noisy when used by neighbours (and us for them I guess) ... and as for that bird that kept waking me up at about 0545 each morning... more

My room was booked for me by the organisation I was attending a meeting for and I did not see the rooms in the main hotel as I was allocated what was euphemistically called a 'garden room'. Being in the business I know what a place at this grading should be like. IT WAS'NT. To be fair I'll start with... more

I had the misfortune to stay in one of the cabins in the annexe to the hotel. I cannot begin to describe the horrendous stench of damp and wood rot in the room. I managed to change for the second night, but will make sure that I am never put in this hotel again. The staff were lovely as were... more

I would like to apologise for the odours in the room in question. Every effort is made by our housekeeping team to ensure our rooms are clean and fresh for arrival, but it seems in this instance we slipped up. These are not the standards we are aiming for here, and I am grateful to you for bringing it to...

We stayed at St Mellon's hotel on a Saturday and Sunday night and after reading previous reviews, I was concerned about what we'd find. But am really pleased to say it was all very good. We arrived at 2pm, were promptly checked in by a very helpful friendly young receptionist. Our triple room was in the main building and was... more

Spent a thoroughly enjoyable weekend at St. Mellons, for not a great deal of cash. Guests may use the excellent, reasonably sized indoor pool and facilities of the attached health club on site. Can't comment on the evening meals, but we'll certainly be back. A wedding on each day of stay, but no significant disturbance. Very pleasant staff - though... more

We stayed here for a relaxing spa holiday. The restaurant staff and food was terrible, the rooms in the chalets need updating, the bar closed at 11pm and was impossible to get drink after that even from room service. This was not a 4 star hotel, Ive staying in much much better. Was diffiult to park and the car park... more

Please be assured that all at the St Mellons Hotel take any comment very seriously, and I can only apologise for the disappointment you felt regarding our restaurant. we are a three star hotel, and offer a 24 hour night service on the bar, and I am unsure as to why you could not get served once the main bar...

I stayed at St Mellons on a business trip for a week in March and generally the place was OK but could have been a lot better. The food, location, setting, facilities (gym and pool) were all excellent, but the attention to detail and staff were not up to scratch. I had to wait approximately 30 minutes to check in,... more

I'm assuming that we must have stopped here at the same time as "tr00dle" below, because we had drunken vomiting wedding guests outside and an unannounced fireworks display (at 10:30pm) as well, that woke up our 8 year old son. Not impressed with that. The drunk guests couldn't be helped, but a warning about the firework display would have been... more

Please be assured that all at the St Mellons Hotel take any comment very seriously, and I can only apologise for the lack of warning regarding the fire works, which were part of one of the wedding celebrations. Thank you for your constructive feedback, and your kind comments regarding the staff, which I have passed onto the relevant departments. Without...

We stayed in this hotel for three nights over a weekend. The first night there was a wedding reception in the hotel, and we had drunk guests hammering on our door and vomiting outside. The second night we were woken by a fireworks display (another wedding party). We were staying in an annexe to the main hotel, perhaps that was... more

Traditional hotel in lovely surroundings. Stayed on 1st floor in spacious bedroom. Hotel is starting to look a bit run down. All of the staff were attentive and eager to serve. Ate 2 nights in the restaurant which was a really pleasant experience. Leisure complex looks gorgeous. Lots of meeting/conference rooms at the hotel and plenty of parking. more
