Four of us went for afternoon tea at the angel and had a lovely time. The food, atmosphere and ambience were lovely. We had good selection of cakes and sandwiches and I was very impressed with the service... the staff were lovely from the receptionist to the waiters all lovely. Also nothing was too much trouble. I asked for a... More

This hotel is in a great location for all the sporting events, visits to the city or just a great weekend away. However there is a but - You enter into a very grand hall and stairway, the reception staff very nice. Once up onto the landing it is all very shabby. Worn carpets, stains on seating etc etc. I... My partner & I booked a package for Dinner (with a bottle of wine), Bed, breakfast & late check - out for a Saturday night stay, from the moment we walked through the front door of this exceptional ally well located hotel (within minutes walk of the Cardiff Central rail station, Millenium Stadium, Cardiff Castle & the main shopping centre)... Decent hotel, older facility. The reception desk is located awkwardly off the main lobby - easy to become congested with guests. We had an issue at check-in: we were assigned to our reserved room, only to walk in and find another guest's belongings already in our room! We returned to the lobby and the issue was resolved. The replacement room... More

Single dated old room for £90 a night with no wifi and £10 to park! 1 positive, it's very central. If your out to party with no time spent in a hotel with lots of money this is for you. Woken at 8am by room cleaners, great when your having a sleep in. Avoid if possible 2-10 and that's generous.

I had waited a long time to stay at The Angel. As a student I could only dream of being able to afford to stay at a 'proper' hotel. After many years, I am delighted to say that it was an experience worth waiting for. The outstanding strength of the hotel, other than its central location, is the quality of... More

Stayed in a twin room on a two night break with Travel Republic. Had a real bargain, the room was nice and quiet, with good air con which worked a treat. Okay the bathroom could do with a spruce up, but it was clean with a good shower and the towels and toiletries were of high quality. The bedroom had... More

What has happened to the Angel Hotel? Once it was Cardiff's premier hostelry, today it is shabby, and well past its sell by date.In a prime location opposite Cardiff Castle and the Millennium Stadium and within easy walking distance of the St. David's 2 shopping centre the Angel Hotel is ideally situated for a stay in Wales' capital city. But... More

Stayed here on a business trip. Its a nice old style hotel, well furnished rooms, comfy bed, large room and large bathroom. Have no view at all so from that viewpoint it was dark. Breakfast is good too. However I would never be able to stay here again on business as I couldn't work in my room as the wifi... More
