We have just returned from a very pleasant 3 day stay at The Town House in Cardiff. We were made to feel extremely welcome, the rooms were very comfortable and the standard of cleanliness throughout was to a very high standard. Breakfast was lovely, filling and kept us going well into the day. It was wonderful to be able to park the car up, forget about it, and walk to the City Centre. Everything we... more

Well, where do we start. We have just had the most memorable long weekend at The Town House. We could not fault anything, apart from the fact that we managed to put on a few extra pounds due to the wonderful breakfasts that are served here. The food, the service, the cleanliness was great. Charles & Paula you do a great job. Your home really is lovely, calm, peaceful and relaxing. My girlfriend and I... more

I have never felt the need to review a hotel before, but our experience here did not match the reviews sadly. We stayed for two nights for Christmas shopping at the Town House, bedroom ok - spacious enough - and the lounge is lovely with two tables for breakfast - one big communal one and a smaller one. Hosts were welcoming, although we only met Charles on arrival and saw no-one again bar the waitress.... more

Over the years, my husband and I have stayed in many Welsh and English B & B's (both good and bad), and I believe our standards are quite high regarding what would be considered an "excellent" experience. I can say that The Town House was indeed excellent!! We had a huge room, extremely clean and well-appointed, with a very comfortable bed. Our middle-floor location gave us the extra bonus of high ceilings (one look at... more

We stayed four nights while visiting our daughter who is a student at the University. Our stay was simply wonderful, with very warm and helpful hosts [we only met Paula, but had email communication with Charles]. We had everything we needed, and experienced none of the shortcomings of other reviewers, even biscuits with the tea! While on a busy street, our street facing room was clean and quiet. The communal breakfast table was, for us,... more

We stayed at the Town House as a party of 6 during the Rugby World Cup in September. Our hosts, Charles & Paula, were absolutely outstanding in that they went way beyond the normal bounds of hospitality in their efforts to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable and very nicely presented. The breakfast was excellent, especially remedial after a few hours spent at the great pub across the road. Off street parking is... more

What a fabulous house. Impeccable decor. Clean, neat and tidy with everything you could possibly need or want. Why stay at the big Hotels and pay silly prices. Breakfasts were truely scrumptious, haven't eaten so much breakfast in our lives before. They really did set us up for the day ahead. We didn't need to eat again until well into the evening. There were many things that we wanted to see and do during our... more

If you value privacy in the mornings at breakfast, and the opportunity to plan the day ahead with your partner, don't book at the Town House. Communal tables mean that you are at the mercy of the loudest, and last interesting person in the room - that's if there's space for you at all to sit together at all. The owners seem to be trying to repeat a country house lifestyle, but forget they have... more

I stayed here for a few nights while flat hunting in Cardiff. It was a good location for me, close to the city centre with great places to eat at night and a quick and pleasant walk through the park to the university and Cathays. The man that spoke to on the phone when making my reservation seemed friendlier than the woman that checked me in and out, but I didn’t think her unpleasant. The... more
