Great hotel, close to the m4 but noise doesnt affect you. Reception staff are very couteous and helpful, the rooms are of average size but clean and nicely decorated. The leisure facilities at this hotel are excellent, sauna, steam room, a couple of jacuzzis a big fitness suite and a big pool, you cant ask for more for this price!!... more

My husband and 2 boys (14 and 3) have just spent 2 nights at The Village Hotel in Cardiff. We were a little worried with some of the other reviews about noise etc, but need not have worried at all. Everything was great. Room 601 was in the new wing and plenty big enough for the 4 of us. The... more

Having read some of the reviews on Tripadvisor I was a little apprehensive. I booked two nights bed and breakfast in one of their king rooms and got a good rate direct with the hotel. It was a little difficult to find as I forgot to take directions. Car parking is vast as is the hotel. Our king room was... more

We got a B&B rate of £75 per night for the two of us. Having read other reviews we knew there was some construction in the area, as new apatments are built (but you should not let that put you off as there was not noise and thw work is well away from the hotel. The hotel lobby is modern... more

Supposed to be a family friendly hotel.. 1 double bed and a sofa bed with a 2inch thick mattress... which was useless, kept falling into the middle of the sofabed so not easy to sleep in it at all. Nothing for kids to do except swimming. No shower gel / shampoo / toilet roll/ biscuits for tea/coffee...provided in the room.... more

Stayed here for two weeks on business with colleagues from Ireland and the UK. After we were served chicken that was still blood red inside and cold Steak and Kidney pies we never ate there again. Fusty smelling Verve lounge area and sticky unclean tables were a huge dissapointment. My shower was unclean and had a brown film all over... more

I'm naming the review benefit of the doubt as I very nearly gave the hotel 3 out of 5. The Hotel offers very good facilities, including a leisure complex, pub (with bar food) and a restaurant. We found check-in to be quick and friendly and the reception area had a nice buzz about it. Also, for a city hotel it... more

The Village is part of the Village hotel chain, in which I stayed several times. I found out it is really all standardized: you will not notice the difference when being in either Cardiff, Birmingham or where-ever. So on the plus side, you know what to expect. On the min side: it is not really personalized. Rooms are ok, not... more

Feb 24, 2008 | Trip type: Friends getaway

A friend and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Village hotel in Cardiff. First impression was very good. Nice big car park with disabled bays close to the Reception area. Check in was quick and easy and staff very friendly. On arrival at our room (twin) we were unexpectedly disappointed. Although it was quite large... more

Stayed here on a Saturday night - somewhat of a mistake. The rooms have bad soundproofing and the television from next door was clearly audible. Worse, however, was the pounding disco from the wedding, which went on until gone 1am. The receptionist said he would try to get it turned down, but in fact the volume level rose. Won't be... more
