My daughter and I stayed on a Sunday night for a treat. We managed to get a room on the third floor for £89. So for the price I am happy with the experience. But this is by no means a 5 Star hotel. I have stayed in excellent 4 Stars in both Wales and London. This wasn't even close.... More

We booked in on Thursday, stayed until Monday, and could not fault this hotel. Iconic in its position on the edge of Cardiff Bay, room was clean, not in any way tired or requiring a refurb in my view.Excellent view of bay. We did nt use the spa but it seemed to be popular with other guests! Like other Cardiff... More

Ok here we go:- Reception in Spa - rude, aggressive and unhelpful. If I described my view fully it could be abusive. Reception in hotel - helpful but ruled by spa staff. Facilities in spa - very limited, only one relaxation/quiet area with 6 beds. Seating area where tea and coffee available but very busy and again limited seating. Limited... More

Prior to arrival we received an email from Principal Hayely offering three levels of upgrade. We decided to upgrade by one step to include complimentary welsh cakes and fizz as it was our 9th Wedding Anniversary. Only one room was ready of the two we booked when we arrived but in fairness we arrived around 11am, well before the check... More

My husband booked this hotel as a surprise for my 30th birthday on 18th July 2014. When we arrived at the hotel the staff had upgraded us (he assumed it was a gesture) except that it had cost an additional £14. The room was lovely at 1st glance but again my husband had though seeing as we paid £174 for... More

We stayed here last week for the Cardiff food & drink festival. And as they say - never again. It's supposed to be the best hotel in Cardiff - iconic on the skyline as you look at Cardiff bay. As we got closer it looks a bit tired and worn. The reception area was clean and tidy. So maybe our... More

Unfortunately the only thing going for this hotel is its position. Do not come expecting luxury and 5 star as per their website. It is certainly not luxurious and even completely revamped, which it desperately needs, would only warrant a medium 4 star, in our opinion. I booked three double rooms with breakfast here for two nights for our elder... More

We booked this hotel direct and not through any third party system and we had been looking forward as we had chosen a Junior Suite two nights as we were going to see War Horse and thought it would be nice to relax. Upon arrival we were informed quite tersely that our room was not ready and as the hotel... More

Just a quick review to say we booked a suite with panoramic views of the bay and were delighted on entering the room. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls, and the views spectacular. The bed was comfortable and facilities as you'd expect from a quality hotel such as this. Staff accommodating with cot for infant and room service excellent. The concierge staff were... More
