We stayed in room 2 which was adequate for what we needed, comfortable, lovely and clean and nice touches with bottled water and smellies, the breakfast was huge! and very welcome. I would fully recommend Maltsters and yes a little noisy but you have to be mindful that it is a working pub - given some good advice in the... More

We had a lovely meal at the Malsters in Cardiff tonight. The food was excellent and at a reasonable price. It was also very well presented. The customer service was excellent and the two girls serving us were lovely. I would recommend this place to anyone. Great atmosphere and a great location. Diolch yn fawr.

Visited Cardiff to catch up with old friends and former colleagues. As I was travelling with my little boy the proximity of the bedrooms to the Bar was ideal. The staff were very helpful in changing the configuration of the beds to accommodate my son and I. The TV set into the wall above the bath was a nice touch.... More

Booked a table for ourselves and friends. This was a return visit as we have had many lovely meals here before, weekday lunches, weekend meals and evening meals. Didn't disappoint, food and staff were excellent as usual. Looking forward to going again and would not hesitate to recommend this place to others. Be aware there is a tight entrance to... More

The rooms were a delight. Tastefully decorated, modern decor and up to the minute gadgets. The telly was a bonus! We were a group of 6 who had 3 rooms so had a good look at all the rooms. The double with the bath in the room was a real surprise. The room next door was cosy as a twin... More

Booked in for one night and have to say, this easily beats the average run-of-the-mill pub accommodations. Small, but really great room with Mac computer and a separate large flat screen tv. All very nicely furnished and clean. The bathroom was stunning .... butler sink, tv over the bath, rainshower, etc. Ample parking at the back in a pay and... More

Room was quiet (no noise from bar) comfortable and well equipped. Location convenient for our foray into Cardiff (Dr Who + Karl Jenkins concert), Llandaff Cathedral (must see!!) is close walking distance. Stayed 2 nights, had evening meal in the bar one night (excellent), breakfast very good both mornings.

Visited on the Thursday before christmas just my husband and I for a pre christmas dinner and was not disappointed. Both had starters , my husband had the scallops with crispy pancetta quails egg and black pudding I had the soup. My husband reckoned it was one of the best starters he had ever had! We both had steak for... More

This really is excellent good quality accommodation a couple of miles from the centre of Cardiff. Situated on Cardiff Road this pub offers just 5 top quality rooms with ample parking at the rear but get a voucher for free parking from the bar as it's a pay & display car park if not a resident. The rooms are well... More

Have been here several times and have not been disappointed on any occasion at any time of the day. Friendly staff and good quality food makes this pub high on the list of places to eat in Cardiff and well worth a visit whether you are a local or a visitor to the area.
