Stayed at the Laurels as we we're going to a gig in Cardiff. Lovely place, host was very friendly and welcoming. Check in was easy. Rooms clean and comfortable. Julie was happy to cater whatever we wanted for breakfast. Guest house was a short taxi journey to Cardiff and Julie was happy to arrange a taxi for us. Would recommend.

Lovely place nestled into a rural area just outside Truro. Annie is gracious and friendly, and puts out a wonderful made-to-order breakfast. Beautiful room with snugly comforter, hot shower, everything perfectly clean: we didn't want to leave. I am so happy we found this place!

It is a lovely, cosy and very clean house far from noise and traffic. The rooms are well decorated and equipped. We travelled to Cardiff for the Super Cup, so we had to check in earlier than 5 pm, and after the match we arrived back late in the evening. Julie, the owner was very friendly and flexible. We received... More

We were a group of 6 lads coming to Cardiff to watch some rugby. All mid 30s with kids and all very respectable individuals. We paid good money to stay here for 2 nights and I wish we hadn't bothered. 10mins from Cardiff City centre is just a lie. We struggled to get taxis to take us out this far... More

Hello We did our best in the circumstances! It is not our normal policy to take groups of 6 young men (or women) for sporting events. You may not know that this was as a result of the late non availability of the self catering which had been booked for you all on your behalf. You also received a discounted... More

As a well travelled couple we booked this accommodation with the excitement of seeing a lovely part of wales and looking forward to a nice relaxing two days away. When I spoke to the owner about booking a room I felt as if i was being interrogated about who we were, what we would be doing in the area and... More

Disappointing to read this feedback.! It was a major rugby weekend in Cardiff, so a little bit of adjustment was needed. The booking was only made 2 days before so accepted a 1 rather than 2 night booking and arranged a specific check in time to coincide with your arrival in Cardiff so you could travel directly to the game.... Although I did not end up staying at the property, when I made a booking and then then had to cancel. I was happy with the response and service that I received and would recommend this property to the friends and family based on this fact, a fair and polite service

Really nice traditional experience with well appointed bedroom and bathroom and excellent breakfasts. The only thing I would change is bigger towels tumble dried for softness. Don't try to diet at breakfast time.

Lovely - room was large, bed very comfortable, soft carpet, the bathroom was beautiful, really did feel home from home. The bathroom is separate from the bedroom but there is a curtain across the landing so it felt private. If you want a quiet stay lovely surroundings just 15 mins from central Cardiff then this is the place.

Many outstanding qualities - nice house with lovely breakfast setting. Superb breakfast with high quality produce and eggs from own hens. Comfortable and well-appointed rooms. Very good pub nearby for evening meals. Lovely setting in a chocolate box village. The things that spoiled it - £70 fee asked for single occupancy of en-suite room. This despite website claiming that a... More

Thank you for your comments which have been noted, are taken very seriously and various corrective actions have been taken. We regret that on this occasion we seem to have fallen below the standards we set ourselves. We hope that on your next visit to Cardiff you will be pleasantly surprised The Laurels St Fagans More

We travelled to Cardiff for a show and looked for a place to stay that wasn't on one of Cardiff's main roads that are full of B and B's. The Laurels had been mentioned by a Cardiff connection as being very nice and in a great location, only about ten minutes straight down the road into Cardiff. Our room was... More
