The Elgano is a great value place to stay. Very clean, superb showers and good location for central Cardiff. Yes, it's not luxury but when you consider what you get for the price you can't complain. Free secure parking, free fast wifi, excellent cooked breakfast, super friendly staff and all a short walk into town. The owner/manager was very accommodating... More

I don't think so. Three of us stayed here in a triple room. There were three single beds in a (barely) double room. There was a third bed 'shoved' at the end of the other two single beds. It was a complete fire hazard. The only reason we even contemplated this place was because every other hotel in Cardiff was... More

Okay value for money, good bed and breakfast, very accommodating. Make Sure you're at breakfast by 0930 as it stops serving then. Great showers and beds. Great bar. £5 from city centre in a taxi. Very friendly service. TV in rooms No air con Very clean

I would recommend staying somewhere else for a trip to Cardiff. The rooms are incredibly noisy, where you can hear conversations from the hallway, loud noises from water pipes, exhaust fans and the kitchen. The beds and pillows were very lumpy and uncomfortable. Although a non smoking room the sheets and curtains smelled like tobacco/cigarette smoke. The room was dusty... More

The restaurant at Elgano's is fantastic. I enjoyed the mussels and the lamb. But, I wouldn't recommend the accommodation. Not even for convenience. The room was noisy, not from street traffic but from the kitchen. For hours the fan from the kitchen buzzed and hummed. The beds and pillows were not comfortable. The linen and curtains stank of cigarette smoke... More

My son and three friends travelled to Cardiff for a concert, which was regrettably cancelled. They stayed at this lovely hotel for 1 night. Upon their arrival they were warmly greeted and made very welcome. The boys were accommodated in a family room which was very comfortable and clean and a fantastic shower apparently! Hazel even gave them a lift... More

We parked our car in the small parking lot on the hotel property and were immediately greeted by a very nice man. He welcomed us and carried our luggage to the room. The room was in a seperate building from the main house called the carriage house. We had a nice, quiet view of the park and Sophia Close. It... More

The hotel and catering industry is also known as The Hospitality Sector. Hazel and Elgan understand this. The welcome is warm; the way the staff talk to you, serve you and behave all combine to make you welcome and more importantly, feel welcome. They have a professionally relaxed approach so you feel comfortable. The requests that you make are met... More

We were greeted by a lovely young lady who used our lead bookers christian name. What a nice welcome! The hotel and room itself was immaculate - amazingly comfortable beds and a fantastic shower. The reason for our stay was a gig at the universitys great hall that evening. The owner of the hotel very kindly gave us a lift there... More
