Stayed here with a friend for a long weekend. Good location and easy to find. Staff were mostly friendly - one of the ladies who did breakfast was a bit abrupt but think she might not be used to young people? Others were lovely, especially Debbie who was very welcoming. Fantastic selection of continental breakfast - everything you could want... More

Very nice B&B, 15 minutes walk from Cardiff city center. The room was small but very clean and cozy, with a operational (en suite) bathroom (but only few room have it). The breakfast was plentiful, with a lot of tea, milk, cereals, croissants and so on. Recommend for people who want to visit Cardiff for its position and the excellent... More

Located on the beautiful Cathedral Road, the Avenue Guest House is an excellent choice for accommodation that is well-decorated, clean, modern, comfortable, and within a reasonable walking distance of downtown Cardiff.

I stayed here to be close to the University for one night. I was in the single room with private bathroom at the top of the building. The room was clean and cosy and the bathroom clean also. I was welcomed by the friendly helpful owner who carried my case and offered information for places to eat. The rooms I... More

I stayed here on March this year - just for one night but had a lovely experience. There is a very friendly atmosphere and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Decoration nice and well maintained throughout. There was an excellent choice for breakfast and this was included in an already competitive price. Location ideal for the City Centre. Good value great stay... More

Needed a quiet room close to the University and handy for the city. Now Cardiff is not a big place and it doesn't take long to get anywhere but this guest house on a very nice street is a short walk through Sofia Gardens to the University and an easy walk to both the City Center and the Millennium Stadium.... I have stayed here a number of times over the past 6 months when I had an early start in Cardiff the next day. I always stayed in the single bedroom with private bathroom. The room and bathroom are clean, comfortable and have everything you need. Breakfast is cereals, toast etc. The owners are friendly and happy to help. It's... More

But not in this case. If you prefer to spend your money on giving back to a local independent business owner than one of the large international hotel chains you can't do better than stay here. I travel to Cardiff frequently on business, I have found myself a new home here. Highly commended and definitely recommended

Cardiff is lovely, and I cannot wait to come back. But I won't be coming back to The Avene Guest House again. Had no interaction with the owners, just the cleaners. The room was clean but small. The noise from the rude / guest neighbours was intolerable and made for a very unpleasant night for which 'again' the cleaner apologised... More

Stayed here for four nights in a single room. The room itself was on the small side and wasn't en-euite, however the bathroom was conveniently located and perfectly adequate (if also a little small). The room was very clean and had everything you would expect. The Owners were friendly and very helpful and guests were well looked after during breakfast.... More
