- George Hotel Brecon

We had room 9, no view. The hotel was claen and tidy, and we had a fantastic breakfast.
Stayed one night Easter w/e - accepted our room n/a but disappointed no alternative facilities to change other than toilets. Surprised local Council offer no concessionary parking for hotel considering tourist location - closest long stay full with traders! Stayed in family room, only complaints sash windows would not stay open, wedged with waste bin and bathroom too hot.

I have stayed at the George hotel on several occasions and have always found the rooms clean and well presented. The staff are all friendly and helpful. This is a traditional hotel with plenty or character - it's nice to go to a place that is individual rather than a bland chain. Very easy to walk into all areas of...

Touring the area and had to stay in Brecon overnight because of a snowstorm. The George Hotel was up the street from where I parked so decided to check in here. Hospitality was fantastic, the bar dinner and breakfast were amazing. The room was a bit dated but was very satisfactory. Thank you for a great stay.
I read some poor reviews about the George, but I disregarded them. Some people complain for the sake of complaining. The hotel is very old and the floors slope. Quaint old stairs, worn carpets. This place is magic. It is not sterile like Premier/Travelodge; I have stayed in scores of those soul-less places. The food was served in an old Victorian dining...

We booked the family room for a couple of nights away over the Christmas holiday. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Brecon, close to the shops, restuarants and local market. First impression of the family room was the space, 2 rooms, decent size ensuite and decent storage. The decor was dated but with 2 young children I...

We booked a meal for a group of friends at The George. We hadn't seen each other for a long time and were eager to catch up. Arriving at The George it was encouraging to see how busy it was, (I work in the hospitality business and love to see local pubs/restaurants doing well in this economic climate). After quickly...

Great Location Breakfast is fine Rooms are nice Service ok The whole experince would have been improved if we had been made to feel important enough to serve promptly and communicate with. Felt more like strangers than guests Only significant negative is carpeted bathroom - yuk I am sure that this place would be fine if your on business
Good food & a welcoming bar, but the hotel side of things was shocking.
The rooms were shabby, very dated and dirty. No parking, a lie in beyond 5 am was impossible due to deliveries outside your bedroom window. The ceiling ligh contained the dessicated bodies of hundreds of houseflies and the ancient shower was like a streak of p!ss....

The hotel is in a good location, being in the middle of Brecon and obviously popular with hikers. The room was well equipped and the bed comfortable although it was all a little tired. The room was at the front of the hotel and unfortunately suffered from late night revellers in the street below. The restaurant was busy and the...
