We stayed in Trecastle for a week in January - very close to this hotel, we have eaten here twice, once as a couple and the second time with some good friends who joined us for a few days, the menu was excellent and the food tasted really good - I can highly recommend the lamb and the Japanese style... We stayed at the Castle Coaching inn for New Year's Eve and we absolutely loved every second of it. The hotel was so cosy and the rooms were lovely - we booked the superior room and it was definitely superior it was warm, clean and the bathroom was huge. The value for money cannot be beat. The location of the... More

On arrival I was a little concerned that the place looked dated and a bit run down. I needn't have worried though. The owner went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. Rooms were warm, clean and tidy. The owner was welcoming and went out of his way to accommodate us. Very reasonable price. It's by no means... More

We chose to stay here after reading previous reviews and they were not wrong! The breakfast and evening meals were excellent and our upgrade to a large room with a king-sized bed and a luxury bathroom really made our stay here perfect - thank-you. A great base for exploring the Brecon Beacons and we just wished we could have stayed... More

We (me and hubby) stayed here for 3 nights while enjoying the Welsh countryside for walking/hiking/relaxing and mainly eating!!! Well, we certainly picked the right accommodation for it....easy to get to several of the areas we wanted to explore this time (we come to Wales a lot!!!), super friendly hosts and the best part of all, amazing food. There is... More

Don't be put off by the outside, which needs redecoration; our room was clean and very comfortable with a large modern bathroom. The bar and dining room are full of character and the food is excellent. The host family are friendly and helpful, and the Brecon Beacons are very close and easy to access. We will return.

Lack of atmosphere, no other customers, very dirty appearance, large menu food when delivered was tasty and hot. Prices reasonable but attention to detail was severely lacking, the exterior is very off putting

I recently stayed here with my partner for the weekend. It was very comfortable and homely, very welcoming owners. The food was brilliant and presented beautifully. The location is perfect t for exploring tountains and waterfall sightseeing. All in all very enjoyable stay and would go again!

We have stayed here 4 times in total and always look forward to coming. The host is a charming gentleman and the restaurant/bar has a really homely feel to it. And as for the food, this is where the Castle Coaching Inn scores highest. Top quality local produce, superbly prepared and presented, tasting fantastic, and at very reasonable prices for... More

Have stayed here several times now and although the place is a little shabby, as these very old buildings often are, it did look as though our room had been redone. It was very clean and comfortable with a huge bathroom and great wifi connection. The family are very friendly and we found we had all sorts of connections. The... More
