We stay in Brecon and the immediate area once a year at different hotels. This hotel has by far the best site being very central and easy to find if you go round the Brecon by-pass and double back in if coming from the south. parking can be a problem particularly if you arrive when there is a function on... The Brecon Castle hotel was wonderful. It was a pleasure to stay in a 'castle' with lovely views as a back drop. The hotel definitely has atmosphere and character and that is all part of the appeal. The beer garden was spacious and the had a lovely time watching the sun go down. We enjoyed the restaurant very much and... More

We stayed here for my wife's birthday. We had booked a Superior room and glad we did as I am sure the standard rooms may not have been up to standard. It had lovely views of the the hills and river and a large bed that had been made up with 2 singles put together. The linen and bathroom were... More

The best thing about this hotel is the staff. From the reception desk to the restaurant staff and cleaning personnel; everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed just one night, for the third time and had B&B. The bedroom was large and the bathroom spotless and well equipped with the usual soaps, shampoos and creams. The bed was very... More

We stayed on the top floor in what would have been the attic rooms, which are now converted in to small standard double rooms. Do your best not to stay on this floor, you will bang your head on the eves and the water pressure is so low the showers hardly work, not to mention how small these rooms are!... More

Thank you for posting your review here on TA. All of our rooms are priced accordingly in base of the size, quality, facilities and accessories provided. I'm sorry about the shower pressure. Our plumbers have now been informed and they will work on the necessary repairs/ improvements. I'm also sorry to hear the Receptionist didn't offer you help with your... More

A modernised old coaching inn with views of the Beacons and a pretty garden. Choose a double superior room with a view. Lovely staff and delicious food but make sure you book in for your evening meal as it is very popular. Super bed and linen, good bathroom, all spotless. My only quibble was that the teabags came in impenetrable... More

Really enjoyed our stay here. Very welcoming hotel, comfortable and quaint. We had a standard room but it was well furnished, comfy bed and lovely linen, bathroom very clean, nice toiletries and good towels. Had evening meal which was excellent and a really nice breakfast. The waiting staff at both meals were efficient and polite and appeared happy in their... More

This is probably your best bet for an hotel in Brecon and although it is OK we cannot say we would highly recommend it. An old coaching inn with lots of sloping floors we had a fairly spacious standard double overlooking the car park and whilst we had no issue with the decor of the room we had a very... More

Just came back from a one night stay and would definitely visit again. From start to finish all the staff we met were happy, friendly welcoming to us. Our room had half a view (rest being a roof) but we knew this when booking so weren't too bothered. Nice big bed, shower did its job and modern tv it was... More
