Just came back from a one night stay and would definitely visit again. From start to finish all the staff we met were happy, friendly welcoming to us. Our room had half a view (rest being a roof) but we knew this when booking so weren't too bothered. Nice big bed, shower did its job and modern tv it was... More

A most unique offering of a hotel blended into the castle offering superlative views of the surrounding countryside. We enjoyed our stay for one night except for our family being accommodated over a noisy bar; that was the only downfall. The gardens were extensive and attractive offering plenty of seating to enjoy a quiet drink overlooking those views again. Breakfast... More

Didn't pre-book, just turned up on spec for a one night stay. Once again a great welcome at reception, and everyone very helpful and friendly. A different room this time on the secoind floor (suggested by Jen - excelent choice/taste yet again!), newly refurbished and very comfortable. Delightfully quaint, a few exposed beams, with an "eyebrow" window and a great... More

It was the first night of our trip in two classic English sport cars, and the Hotel, the staff, the rooms and our evening meal set high standards that only the cars could match. We will calling again on our way to the ferry.

We needed to stay for one night in the area (Sunday night) and this was just what we wanted. We booked in advance and were offered a standard room or standard room with Beacon view. We decided to take the Beacon View for an additional £20 - well worth it - the room was just above the terrace at the... More

We are regular visitors here for food and drink, the wife having only a small appetite always orders a child meal, to save me the embarrassment of eating alone, only this time I was told that child meals are not profitable enough to serve to an adult?!? £5.50 for two cheap sausage and around 15 fries is probably more profitable... What a superb Hotel. Very friendly staff, extremely comfortable Rooms and what should be an award winning Restaurant. Value for money wise it would be very hard to beat and the ambiance, friendliness, quality of both Breakfasts and Evening Meals with very attentive staff and excellent service is what we all look for in a Hotel. Very hard to fault.... More

The staff work hard to ensure you have a good stay in Brecon. The breakfasts are excellent and set you up for a walk in the Beacons. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable and there's a lovely summer garden with a view of the hills for pre or after dinner drinks

Lovely setting with a beautiful view of the Brecon Beacons in the back gardens, lovely meal and staff very helpful. Still has old characteristics in downstairs rooms. There is a lot of history regarding the castle and grounds. It is worth visiting the Cathedral which is within walking distance.

This hotel s part of the old castle with the Castle bar in the ballroom built into the wall of the castle. From the patio there a good vies across the river and surrounding countryside. The room was small but clean and well decorated with good quality modern oak furniture. The floors are not level because of the age of... More
