We booked the hotel restaurant for a group lunch. We belong to a Vintage Car Club and have regular group lunches and look for different venues. We chose the Castle of Brecon because it was within reach of a lot of our members. Indeed we booked for 24 members. We were greeted in a friendly and warm manner by all... More

We held a family afternoon function in the Ballroom for a diverse age group with celebratory drinks, with an accompanying bar, which was a tremendous success. The staff were extremely helpful in the pre-event planning making sure all aspects were covered and the main occasion was very well supported and all our wishes were honoured. The staff were delightful and... More

Stayed here last month for a wedding -what a lovely place! So impressed with the whole experience -the surroundings and hotel is 2nd to none. If I ever get married again -or want to celebrate something this is where I'll be heading, Hotel feels so special -and 'oldy worldy' and so well kept. Love it x

we have stayed at the castle many times, and always find it very friendly. rooms are clean and tidy, breakfast is a buffet, but very nice. The castle has parking and is right in the centre of brecon with beautiful view. the outside could do with a bit of clean up if i was being picky around the smoking area. Evening... More

Booked a superior double room which was spacious and well decorated. The whole hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful- especially on reception. The views are wonderful and I only wish we could have stayed longer! Only down side is that the carpets in the halls could do with updating.

My wife and I went to visit friends and they told us we where booked into the castle for a meal,we arrived on the Saturday evening at 8 pm for 8/30, there was a big function on that evening , but what a great night the barman was a real character and the girls serving in the restaurant did a... Arrived on a Friday night to find a bit of 'bustle' in an otherwise quiet town. Managed to find a parking space outside to the front and received a warm welcome at Reception (always a good start) and was swiftly in my room overlooking the front. By 6.30 the bar was busy and not a table to be found (popular... More

Anyone making plans for a wedding should really consider this hotel as a venue. We had our ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening celebration here and it was absolutely perfect. Jodie, the wedding planner was fantastic, she was calm, encouraging, supremely well organised which helped minimise the potential stress of arranging such a special event. We were given free reign and... More

Just returned from a 2 night stay and wedding held in the hotel. We were warmly welcomed at reception on arrival and quickly checked in with no fuss. The room was on the second floor via stairs, (be aware no lift) but this was no problem for us. The Friday evening was extremely busy as there were 2 separate functions... More

We enjoyed our stay at The Castle Hotel. We loved the fact that part of the hotel was actually the remains of the ancient castle. The room was spacious enough and the bed was king size and comfortable. The morning reception staff, bar and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. The evening meal, apart from the dessert which was commercially... More
