Didnt stay there but should have! Ate in their restaurant and my goodness what beautifully cooked venison and jus! We counted eleven different meats of which we sampled two of and both were originally cooked and tasted delicious. Random assortment of beers to try and two cats to stroke...will definitely make it a priority to go back

Joy and Doug Browning run a very good, laid-back, informal establishment. They are also lovely people. There are only three bedrooms, but each is fine with comfy beds and good full bathrooms. The downstairs bar/restaurant area is comfortablly rustic. Doug's cooking is first rate. He allows good ingredients to speak for themselves and keeps fussiness to a minimum. Breakfasts are... More

7 Fire Fighters from Ogmore Vale walked 35miles to Brecon, we stayed at theTravellers Rest and had a great welcome. The rooms were spacious and very well kept, the evening meal and breakfast was delicious. Overall would highly recommend the Travellers Rest to anyone staying in the Brecon area.

This place was recommended by our friends. We came in August 2011 and were absolutely fascinated by Travellers Rest Inn. Our apartment was spacious, clean and very stylish. The bathroom is lovely and the water is hot! The food is great. Lots of tipical Welsh dishes, substantial breakfast and wonderful desserts. The owners, Joy and Doug, are very friendly. I... More

We stayed in one of the apartments which was very spacious with a large lounge, kitchen with a double and single futon, a separate bedroom with a double bed and a lovely bathroom (with endless hot water - a must as i am a water baby!). The area is very... More

We have just returned from the Brecons and had a fantastic weekend. We were due to stay before Christmas but had to postpone to March and we weren't disappointed with what we found. Ideally located for the Brecons with lovely views. Joy made us feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. The rooms could probably do with some updating... More

Stayed here for the third time now and loved it. It's a good honest place to stay. The location is great with two other puns in less than half a mile a short walk along the canal. The rooms (we stayed in the studio) are a good size and although not the most modern, very clean and warm. The owners... More

I went with as a group of 4 freinds and we booked out 2 rooms, one of which was actually a 'studio flat' - the roomes were clean, tidy and well equipped. The views out over the hills was fanatastic, and thankfully we had the weather to boot. We ate breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant - breakfast was... More
