Right in the middle of town, but located in a rear lane. So only short walk to amenities etc. Nice breakfast and room, room to park off road. But owner could do a little more to make you feel welcome? Not exactly an enthusiastic welcome, a little distant I felt. Thought it was just me, but girlfriend said the same.... More

Really felt part of Brecon's history in this large old house right in the centre. Plenty of space set aside for guests downstairs, and all decorated in character with the house but with excellent modern (if compact!) shower room in my room. Shame we weren't there long enough to use the living room - would be happy to go back,... More

Stayed here on Saturday night with my husband and his parents. The house is beautifully furnished and the rooms we stayed in were very impressive - wonderful iron bed steads and lovely touches throughout. The owner was very welcoming and cooked us a delicious breakfast. I would love to stay here again if I am ever in the area and... More

Stayed here for four nights mid week recently. The house is in the town centre and very handy for shops, pubs, restaurants etc. The house is situated in a quiet road with good off street parking. Our room was at the rear over looking the garden, nicely decorated with good en suite bathroom with powerful shower. Breakfast was very good... More

My sisters and I stayed here the night before my sister's wedding. The building and rooms are beautiful and made a wonderful back-drop to photographs of our preparations for the big day. The location of the house, whilst being very central, was also peaceful. What made the stay even more special was the thoughtfulness of the owners, from providing champagne... More

The house is beautiful and pristine. Huge room with nice view, and a welcoming host. One of the best places I've stayed in our trip to Wales so far. Everything is within walking distance and the house has many books for you to plan walks and visits to wonderful places. I absolutely recommend this quiet and nice place.

I stayed in Cantre Selyf BnB for a whole month and I loved it. Helen and Nigel were very nice and friendly even after such a long time and I'm looking forward to stay there sometime in the future. The Cantre Selyf stands right in the town centre (but it's still suprisingly quiet) and the house itself seems very old... More

My mother and I spent three nights in Helen's twin room and cannot speak highly enough of this B & B. The house and garden are delightful, as is the hospitality. Delicious breakfasts are served with care and attention. The location is very convenient for walking around Brecon and eating out in the evenings.

Our room was very beautifully decorated, very much in "the spirit of the house". The hostess was very kind and served an excellent breakfast. We certainly recommend this B&B

This really is a beautiful place to stay, full of character and charm. Our room, the Selyf, overlooked the garden and was spacious. The breakfast in the mornings was tasty and the host welcoming. A great location right in the heart of town.
