Lovely house in the heart of Brecon. Close to shops, restaurants, cinema etc. Lovely, spacious, clean and quiet room overlooking the garden. Excellent shower with complimentary toiletries. Excellent breakfast served from 8am - 9:30am. You can hear voices from the other room, but this didn't affect our sleep or comfort. Would recommend this B&B. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Very nice B&B in lovely old house, in a quiet location in centre of town. Clean room, comfy bed and nice breakfast. Only downsides are squeaky floorboards and there does seem to be some noise leakage between rooms (I could hear someone watching TV in another room). Would certainly stay again. Recommended.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. We have tried everything to find away to stop the creaks with no success but we will keep trying, 17th century floorboards are a problem but the pretty moulded ceilings are also from the same period so perhaps we can forgive them. The tv should be on a hotel setting so I will look into... More

We stayed only 1 night, but we enjoyed our stay, it is a beautiful house, very clean, cook breakfast was very good, you have parking at the back of the house, a bit tricky to find, we will go back there for sure,

We held a corporate event at the Cantre Selyf on the Friday evening of Brecon Jazz weekend. The venue is beautiful, really homely and beautifully appointed. The garden is lovingly cared for and it's gorgeous. Ours hosts were marvellous, food delectable, drinks aplenty. Thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend for functions. We'll be back to stay soon!

I travel a lot for work and find myself in enormous chain hotels regularly for extended periods. My husband and I stayed, unfortunately, for ONLY one night in this beautiful B & B. We were in the breath-taking Welsh countryside for a wedding. We received excellent, helpful service from Helen, who also cooks a lovely breakfast. She spoke to us... More

A beautiful house in a great location in Brecon. It was good to be able to leave the car and walk to the cathedral where we were singing for the weekend. Helen was a good hostess and made us very welcome. The room was beautiful with views over the lovely garden, and it was well equipped.. Breakfast was excellent, with... More

Utterly lovely. We stayed in the Einon room and were immediately impressed - clean, suitably fitted with period pieces and more than enough room. Very friendly couple all too eager to please and coupled with very easy access to the town centre, Cantre Selyf makes for the ideal stopover either for the touring traveller or for those wishing to use... Reserved the day before by phone....very helpful and talked us in the last half mile to a late evening check in. My partner was working a night shift so my teenage son and I shared the very comfortable twin room at the rear of the beautifully restored and presented property. Stunning period features complimented by stylish and sympathetic furnishings and... More

We had booked to stay here while our daughter did her DofE Hike but this was cancelled due to the very cold weather. However we decided to go ahead with our visit and are very glad we did. The house is very welcoming, as is Helen. We stayed in Einon with the beds converted into a King size double and... More

Very smart house, full of character and well restored. Good location in the town centre and close to the river Usk but not noisy or overlooked. Easy distance to local pubs and restaurants (the Italian (Robertos) was excellent btw and some lovely walks within a 20/30 minute drive. Good breakfast too.
