I recently went to a family wedding in Wales and booked into the Wellington in Brecon. It shouldn't have rooms and should stick to being a not very clean pub. Poor decor, poor furnishings, smelly and not very clean and thats upstairs and downstairs.

Room ok for price but due to misunderstanding with a food order they made us pay more for having less food!... Was suppose to be 2 meals for 9.99. They only changed one meal to the right meal then charges us the non offer price after we had eaten
The impression given by the outside of this property is not shared on the inside. Carpets loose on the stairs, potato chips underneath the breakfast table, fittings coming away from doors, windows that either don't open or don't close, dusty tables... A whole cacophony of small but irritating things that made this hotel stand out for all the wrong reasons....

Second time ive stayed here on fishing trip £46 b&b double room , ensuite bathroom and FREE wifi Basic but clean rooms Good pub food in the bar Good service friendly staff Perhaps not the place for thet special weekend with the one you love , but if you need a bed for the night , outstanding value
Good handicapped access - I was sporting crutches at the time - and good seating in the lounge and restaurant area. We just took advantage of the coffee and cake offer for £3.95 which was most agreeable. Our daughter had a tuna mayonnaise sandwich. and the total cost was £13.20.
The dining and snacks menu looks good.

Having booked a stay and then looked at recent reviews we decided to call the hotel and check again. They do not look at Trip Advisor - maybe they should. Bed bugs concerned us from other report. We were assured that the linen was changed using a commercial service and this turned out to be so - we had no...

Although in quite an imposing building the entrance is rather low key. The hotel reception is the bar so you may have to wait to get attention. Up the grand staircase into a warren of smaller staircases and corridors, the rooms are in need of some redecoration - but the things that really matter are well taken care of. Our...

Stayed at the hotel last night and was perfectly satisfied fir £39. Great location in the heart of the town but not noisy. Old building full of character. Had a single room at the top of the building which was warm, clean and had everything needed. The food in the bar was good pub grub, competitively priced. The staff were...

I often stop here when travelling from North to South Wales. The rooms are clean; some are good, others are average and could do with some reburbishing; some are cold. The room price is good value. The food and beer are good and very good value. The service could do with a bit more smile.
Popped in whilst wandering around Brecon. Not much atmosphere, not particularly clean in the area where we were sat, grubby walls, poorly painted radiator peeling wallpaper. Lots of tables, but many reserved when we were there so not much choice. Didn't eat there but menu had typical pub grub at average prices. Other end of bar looked more inviting with...
