We visited the Sunday of August Bank Holiday 2015 for a family meal on the way home from a day out. We asked someone where would be good value to eat with children and the recommended The wellington Hotel. We found a table quite quickly and we're quite comfortable there. We went to the bar to order where we had... More

Although the staff were friendly enough, the service was slow and amateur and the pub area grubby, shabby and unexceptional. We had to wait to book in as there is no reception desk so just had to wait at the bar. The rooms are basic and and overpriced at £70 for a tiny single room. Service at breakfast was again... More

I stayed at the Wellington for a night and booked into a single room. The room itself was ok, although there was constant noise from what may have been either an air conditioning unit or the chiller unit for the beers. Good thing then that I had earplugs with me. The hotel itself could do with a bit of updating... More

I stayed in room 11 at the front of the hotel..incredibly noisy from the drunken antics in the street and taxi rank directly opposite....room very shabby and grubby. Bed was one of the worst I've ever 'not' slept in..wallpaper hanging off the walls and giant cracks in the walls. Breakfast was distinctly average.

Tried to find a cheap place to stay for one night in Brecon. Phoned the Wellington as a result of a online search and was given a choice of economy or standard. Opted for economy after all it was only one night. Wasn't expecting much but loved the room. It was clean and bright with the biggest bed I have... More

Building itself if great. Inside at the bars & eating areas, really good, cosy, full of locals. Bedrooms. Not sure how upbeat I can remain really. Room 12 was dreadful. Firstly, it physically went down hill, with bumps under the carpet. There was no door on the wardrobe, so no full length mirror. Thick dust on top of the wardrobe... More

Who are all these people leaving negative reviews for this place?! I found it really very good but perhaps I had low expectations after reading the previous reviews. The room was clean and comfortable and had a good nights sleep. I had dinner and breakfast here, both of which were good with excellent service. Only negative was the lack of... More

I stayed here for one night when taking part in "The Fan Dance" event at nearby Pen Y Fan mountain. I got an early warm up for climbing up Pen Y Fan as I had to go up three flights of stairs to get to my room! The room was fine - clean, reasonably spacious and the bed was comfortable.... More

Decided to pop in for some food on our way home from our holiday as we wanted something quick and easy and from the menu there was many choices for myself and the family. As we were waiting for our food, I went to the bar to get drinks and saw one of the waiters sneeze on some food going... More
